Goals: The goal of this study is to analyze nursing home residents‘ distribution based on gender, age, nationality, and to determine the prevalence and treatment of chronic disease. Materials and Methods: All the data for this study is obtained from the Prishtina Nursing Home. Prospective method is utilized, tracking the records for the total of 6 months from July – December 2008 and analyzing the determined residents‘ parameters at the Prishtina Nursing Home. Results: The most frequent chronic problem is the cardiovascular group of disease, particularly Arterial Hypertension. Treatment options for Arterial Hypertension are antihypertensive drugs. From this group the most frequently used drug is Enalapril. Conclusion: Increased physical activity, health education, weight decrease, smoking cessation, can reduce morbidity and mortality rate from Cardiovascular Diseases.
