The use of tamsulosin and alpha-1 adrenergic blockers in general, increases the<br />

rate of spontaneous passage of distal ureteral stones. It is related with decreased use of<br />

analgesics, smaller rate of renal/ureteral colic, shorter period of hospitalization and<br />

avoiding of more invasive treatment options. Our data support its use in the conservative<br />

treatment of urinary stones in the distal ureter.<br />
