The purchasing price of sugar beets is successively decreased. Instead, the planters<br />

receive financial compensation, amounting to 60% of the losses born due to decline of<br />

purchasing prices in 2006/07 and 2007/08 and to 64.2% in 2008/09 and <strong>2009</strong>/10.<br />

The milk collection price in 2007 was higher by 16% as compared to 2006. Since<br />

January until December 2007, the discussed price increased by 37.5%. After such high<br />

increases, caused by the increase of the prices in the world markets, the breakdown of<br />

the situation occurred in 2008 and during the first eight months of 2008, the prices of<br />

milk were lowered by ¼.<br />

In case of the producers of slaughter animals, the integration of Poland with the EU was<br />

most profitable for beef producers. During three years, i.e. 2003 – 2005, the prices of<br />

beef increased by 60% and were maintained on the level of 4 PLN/kg. In 2004, the<br />
