The other Czech regions occupy the following positions: 204 (Jihozápad), 206
(Severozápad), 209 (Jihovýchod), 210 (Severovýchod), 213 (Strední Morava), 214
(Moravskoslezsko) and 215 (Strední Cechy). Out of Polish regions, in 1995,
Mazowieckie occupied 224 th place. The rest of Polish and Slovak regions were ordered,
with regard to GDP per capita value, at the positions from 226 (Śląskie) up to 253
(Podkarpackie).
In 2005 the region of Praha, regarding GDP per capita value, occupied the high 11 th
position (35,900 PPS), Bratislavský kraj 17 th (33,100 PPS), while Mazowieckie was
placed as 182 nd (17,100 PPS). The rest of Czech, Polish and Slovak regions are still
found among the “third hundred” of EU regions.
The situation is different if we analyze the positions of regions ordered according to
GDP per capita dynamics in 2005 (1995=100) comparing this place to the initial value
of GDP per capita (see table 4).
