Architektura responsywna: medyczne
centrum ratunkowe w obliczu zagrożeń
humanitarnych na obszarze Afryki
Subsaharyjskiej
Na obszarze jednym z najgorzej rozwiniętych na świecie,
nagłe zagrożenia humanitarne równają z ziemią nietrwałą
architekturę pozbawiając ludzi schronień oraz podstawowej
pomocy medycznej. Głównym założeniem projektu jest
wykorzystanie alternatywnego materiału budulcowego
- zużytych opon w celu zapewnienia szybkiej pomocy
ofiarom w stanach nagłych klęsk humanitarnych. Budynki
„responsywne” mają za zadanie reagować na zmiany czynników
zewnętrznych i są one budynkami raczej przekształcalnymi
niż statecznymi. Prymitywna technologia budowania
i lokalne materiały są podstawą rozważań związanych ze
współczesnym regionalizmem, który jest integralną częścią
badań nad projektem. Struktura namiotowa budynku
ułatwia szybki montaż oraz jego wentylację. Medyczne
centrum ratunkowe jest samowystarczalną jednostką, dzięki
akumulacji, filtracji i wykorzystaniu wody deszczowej na
cele bytowe. Koncepcja jest rozszerzona o lądowisko dla
helikopterów, które ułatwia dostawy materiałów higienicznosanitarnych
lub transport ofiar w miejscu katastrofy.
Responsive architecture: a medical
rescue centre in the face of humanitarian
emergencies in Sub-Saharan Africa
In one of the most under-developed areas of the world,
sudden humanitarian emergencies raze impermanent
architecture to the ground, leaving humans without
shelter and basic medical care. The main objective of the
project is the use of alternative building materials – used
tyres – in order to provide speedy assistance to victims of
sudden humanitarian crises. The task of these “responsive”
buildings is to react to the changes in outside factors.
Rather than being static buildings, they’re convertible. The
primitive building technology and local materials form the
basis of reflections related to modern regionalism, which
is an integral part of the project’s research. The tent-like
structure of the building allows for its quick assembly and
provides ventilation. The medical emergency centre is a selfsufficient
unit thanks to the accumulating, filtering and use
of rainwater for living purposes. The concept is extended by
a helipad, which facilitates deliveries of health-and-hygiene
materials and the transport of victims from the location of
the emergency.
