Shanghai Queer is collective storytelling of the past 15 years (2003-2018) on the LGBTIQ
communities pursuing equality and freedom in Shanghai, China. Director Chen follows various
subjects such as activists, scholars, and artists involved in same-sex equality movements, but as time
goes, can they still hold on to the hope that they once had?
