2020 FRIB holiday card
Thank you for your support and partnership during<br />
a monumental <strong>2020</strong>! Now 95 percent complete,<br />
<strong>FRIB</strong> became the highest-energy superconducting<br />
heavy-ion linear accelerator in March upon<br />
accelerating ion beams to more than half the<br />
speed of light. In September, <strong>FRIB</strong> was designated<br />
a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science user<br />
facility. Best wishes for a happy <strong>holiday</strong> season and<br />
a healthy, prosperous 2021.
On the cover: U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette designated the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams<br />
as a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science user facility 29 September. He and MSU<br />
President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D. unveiled a designation plaque during the ceremony.<br />
DOE Under Secretary for Science Paul Dabbar and U.S. Representatives from Michigan Elissa Slotkin,<br />
Tim Walberg, and John Moolenaar also participated.
