4.1 Four Scenarios

The analysis of many parking lots operated by Indigo Group and their comparisons
with others led to the identification of four dominant scenarios for future carparks.
Each of them have the ambition to make parking spaces more evolutive and more
adapted to their context. These scenarios provide general guidelines for particular
sites typologies and city conditions. Yet, the exact architectural solutions and
programmatic approaches will have to be adjusted according to the actual site specifics.
The services that a station in a metropolis require will differ greatly from the ones
of a city square in the historic centre of a regional city, though they both would refer to
the same scenario of the Deep Square.
Design principles
1. Street – Premium level for pedestrian city life
and moving vehicles.
2. Lower-street – Flexible interface level for
mobility and logistics.
3. Activity – Functional levels for vehicle
management and light industrial production.
4. Resources – Systematic use of the ground's
resources and their redistribution to the city.
