Dear BCG recruiting team,
My Name is Rita Pereira, an economics finalist at Nova School of Business and
Economics, and I would like to express my interest in the GRENZENLOS 2017.
My intention with this cover letter is express my willingness and desire to participate
in the program. Let’s start with one of the major components: my academic record.
During my BSc Degree, I have held a grade point average of 17/20 which putting me
in the top 5% of all students of the BSc in economics. Among the many courses taken
I have shown high performance in analytics and finance related subjects such as,
Finance Accounting (19), Finance (16), Calculus I (19), Calculus II (17),
Microeconomics (16) and Macroeconomics (17).
Coming from bachelors in economics in one of the best universities in Europe, and
having been already accepted in Finance masters at Rotterdam School of
Management, Erasmus University (#10 FT business school). This path was decided
knowing my desire to pursue a career in the finance world. I am interested in a
summer internship position because I believe that it would provide me with valuable
knowledge and hands-on experience in the professional field. After learning about the
company’s services from various professionals, it has inspired me to pursue a career
because of their ability to work with various clients, learn more about the company
and financial situations, which has always been an interest of mine.
Sports in my far my biggest passion. I have played basketball, in national
competitions and in the university level, which brought me to Croatia having
represented Nova in the European University Games. Besides imposing me, since a
young age, to have a great time management skills, basketball made me a true team
player, something that I believe to be very valuable when it comes to multinational
corporations such as Boston Consulting Grup.
During my bachelors, I have participated in diverse projects, from COHiTEC, where I
helped a team of scientists and engineers turn their technology into a product and into
a profitable business. Besides, I had fought for the women rights in the Portuguese
business world by founding and being the president of the first-ever university
association empowering women’s rights, Nova Women in Business is today on of the
most active clubs at Nova, with a big diversification of activities and papers
published. I gained a lot of knowledge and very valuable soft skills, but I have, above
all, learned how to ideally lead and worked with people.
