Continuation fromm last issue
On the 29th of May 2015 I
met with Dr Javid Iqbal for
the purpose of a recorded interview.
We had met previously on a
number of occasions work related so
it didn’t take long to pick up a rapport.
During the interview I was
which ranged from politics, public
relations, the influence of Allama
Iqbal on their lives, Impact of being
orphaned at the ages of 7 for
Muneera and 14 for Javid, the final
moments of Allama Iqbal’s death, the
works of Allama Iqbal, the works of
Javid Iqbal, the guardianship
arrangements, the partition and formation
of Pakistan, the sacrifices,
friendships, What Quaid-E-Azam
saw for Pakistan, current state of
Pakistan, reasons for decline of state,
hope for Pakistan, political revolution,
current parties, National language
and indeed much more than
can be listed. Dr Javid Iqbal conducted
his matters very professionally
and ahead of time. This became
apparent when I received the foreword
to include in the book in August
of 2015 without a prompt. The
emphasis from such a great mind was
that work should be in continuation
and where he saw innovation, creativity
and strive undertaken by an
individual he linked that to the concept
of the ‘Shaheen’ embedding
ideas of ‘Khudi’ and the ‘Javid
Nama’ to inspire you further.
struck by how sharp in responses Dr
Javid Iqbal was and nor did he shy
away from answering any question
that I posed. In fact the questions that
I’d pre-planned soon came to an end
but the vast amount of knowledge
and wisdom that Dr Javid Iqbal help
meant that we went on for hours
spontaneously. I found Dr Javid Iqbal
to be a humble man who challenged
himself when it came ‘Iqbaliaat’ and
new realities. We covered a series of
questions topically on ‘LIFE AFTER
IQBAL’ for both of the children
