from Zeta and one which he organised.
Milutin ordered his son to be blinded. But Stefan
won over his brothers when news spread
that his sight had returned suddenly. The miracle
was attributed to Saint Nicolas.
After the crowning, Stefan gave to his
son Dušan the title of the “young king”. The
young king proved himself in the battle of
Velbužd against the Bulgarians. Victory in that
battle was attributed to his personal involvement,
courage and skills of an army man who
would be the future emperor. The glory he
gained in that battle inspired the young Dušan
to turn against his own father, attacking the
palace in Nerodimlje, Stefan ran away, his son
smashed his army, then Dušan captured his father
and imprisoned him inside the “fortified
town of Zvečan” where Stefan was strangled

сахрањен, и коју је завршио његов син Душан Силни.
