грађењу Студенице, у житију Немањином стоји: „Било је ово
О место пусто ловиште зверова. Кад је дошао у лов господин
наш и самодржац Стефан Немања, који је владао свом српском
земљом, и кад је он ловио овде, изволи му се да на овом пустом
месту сагради овај манастир.” Овде је Немања боравио пре него
је отишао за Свету Гору где је помогао свом сину, Светом Сави
да подигне српски манастир Хиландар. После Немањине смрти,
Свети Сава је пренео његове мошти за Србију и над њима помирио
своју браћу Вукана и Стефана Првовенчаног, завађене око пре стола.
У Студеници су сахрањени Немања, његова жена Ана, синови
Вукан и Стефан и унук Радослав.

Regarding the building of Studenica, in Nemanja’s biography stands:
“This place was a deserted hunting ground once. When our lord
and ruler Stefan Nemanja, who ruled the entire Serbian state, came
to hunt and when he hunted here, he decided to build a monastery on
this deserted place.” Nemanja spent some time here before he left for
Mount Athos, where he helped his son, Saint Sava, build the Serbian
monastery of Hilandar. After Nemanja’s death, Saint Sava transferred
his relics to Serbia and above them made peace between his brothers
Vukan and Stefan the First Crowned, who had quarreled over the
throne. In Studenica are buried Nemanja, his wife Ana, his sons Vukan
and Stefan and his grandson Radoslav.
