2015 Annual Report
The John 1010 Generation
Dear Friends,
We hope you will be impressed with the successes from 2015 that we share with you in this report; we certainly are. Your investment in
Mission UpReach continues to help us pursue our vision of establishing 1010 congregations in Western Honduras in this generation.
Some of our most exciting accomplishments from the past year include growing to 10 autonomous, self-supporting congregations in
our region; guiding the legalization of the marriages of over 60 couples who had been living in common law arrangements; and the
continuing efforts of our local, Honduran evangelistic team that have resulted in over 438 baptisms in the region. These and many more
accomplishments are shared in this report!
Mission UpReach is also excited to announce the start of a new ministry in 2016 called The Moses Project. This ministry is a full-time
boarding facility and functioning agricultural center for 50 high school-aged boys from local villages. Those young men will receive
academic support to complete high school while learning productive and sustainable farming practices. In addition, they will have biblical
and evangelistic training from our church planters. We know that The Moses Project is equipping tomorrow’s church leaders.
On a personal note, our family was seriously impacted when our son Harrison was involved in an ATV accident that resulted in a traumatic
brain injury. The August 14 accident happened just as Harrison was embarking in his promising adult life, having been married for just
one year to a wonderful Christian woman and having graduated from Harding University with plans to enroll in Lipscomb University’s
graduate school in the fall. Harrison’s recovery is a slow and arduous process for him, as well as his extended family and friends.
Considerable uncertainty still remains about the future, but we trust in our God and we are secure in His plans. We want to thank the
thousands of Christian friends who have encouraged and supported us, especially with the powerful and heartfelt prayers that we are
continuing to have answered.
Harrison has had a passion for missions since we served as a family in Mexico when he was a boy. After we returned, he was relentless in
asking us, “When are we going back to the mission field?” and that was no small part in our decision to move to Honduras. Even though
our family has had to divert attention during Harrison’s recovery, we continue to celebrate the blessings that we have received and we
now have an even stronger will to share Christ with the people of Western Honduras because of these events.
Thank you for the many ways you have supported us in 2015. We appreciate each and every
volunteer hour you gave serving with us, every dollar you donated, and, more than anything
else, your prayers. It is with excitement and great anticipation that we begin 2016 and
continue to dream of new opportunities to bring Christ to 1010 villages in Western Honduras.
