Threats and physical assaults were also recorded in Virginmost
and in the centre of Zagreb. During the year, students of the
Serbian Orthodox Secondary School in Zagreb were attacked on
several occasions by fellow students from a nearby secondary
school. After a round table entitled “The Second War”, held in
the Croatian national theatre building in Rijeka on August 5, a
group of theatre visitors were physical attacked by hardline
right-wingers who shouted abuse and threats. On right-wing
web portals (Dnevno.hr, Maxportal.hr), sinister comments and
threats continued after this incident: “Take them immediately
before the firing squad”, “Get that shit out of Rijeka” and “Oh,
man, no one has a nice little gun handy. Come on, shoot him and
his guard dogs, period. A stone around their necks and throw
them into the deep…”.
/4 Damage and Destruction to Property,
Buildings and Graveyards
An increase in the number of incidents involving damage, destruction
or theft of property owned by Serb citizens or institutions,
mostly the Serbian Orthdox Church, was recorded in 2015.
Devastation of anti-fascist monuments, which had started in
Croatia in the early 1990s, continued, including the devastation
of monuments erected in memory of the Serbs killed in the
1991–95 war.

On January 19, in Vlaška street in the centre of Zagreb, a car with
Belgrade plates was smashed by a concrete flower pot. The car’s
owner refused to report the incident to the police. Four students
who came for a swim to the Pasjača beach in Konavle (southern
Croatia) on August 10, were shocked to find the car with
Belgrade plates belonging to the father of one them, damaged
upon their return from the beach. Two big-lettered messages,
