He graduatedpostgraduate study in the program Fire protection and industrial safety in 2002. He was the director ofthe prevention department of Fire and Rescue Service of Moravian-Silesian region in years 2005 to2010 and in 2011 he was appointed as the assistant director for prevention and civil emergencypreparedness of Fire and Rescue Service of Moravian-Silesian region. Pokorný, PhD cooperates in thepedagogical, research and publication field with Faculty of Safety Engineering, Technical universityof Ostrava. He is author of 4 monograph and more than 80 contributions in the national andinternational periodicals and in the conferences. He is the investigator or co- investigator of 3 researchprojects. Pokorný PhD is the member of work group Fire safety of the tunnels established by Ministryof the Interior of the Czech Republic.
