Polna struktura stanovništva prema popisima u Crnoj Gori, 2011.Population structure by sex, Census 2011Od dvadesetih godina prošlog vijeka, kada jena teritoriji današnje Crne Gore živjelo 311 341stanovnika, do sredine XX vijeka broj građanase povećao za oko sto hiljada, a u posljednjihšezdeset godina za 47%. Ovakav rast jednim dijelommože se pripisati relativno visokom prirodnompriraštaju, naročito u međupopisnom periodu(1950-1968).
