Galerija je med drugim članica odbora evropskearhitekturne nagrade Mies Van de Rohe.Kot član organizacijskega odbora in predsednik Društva arhitektovSlovenije in Društva arhitektov Ljubljane (od 2006) Andrej Hrauskyodločno zastopa stroko v arhitekturi velikokrat nenaklonjenih razmerah,ki vladajo pri nas. Med drugim arhitekte zavzeto in uspešno vodi priprizadevanjih za uveljavitev ključnih interesov stroke in prostora, zahtevin ciljev v smislu urejanja in varovanja arhitekturne dediščine, dviganjaprepoznavnosti arhitekture v družbi, odgovornega in dolgoročnegaurejanja mest, zlasti Ljubljane.Andrej Hrausky je odigral tudi ključno idejno in organizacijsko vlogopri utemeljitvi in ustanovitvi zbornice arhitektov po letu 1991, najprej vokviru IZS in nato kot osamosvojene ZAPS. Hrausky hasserved as Director of Arhe since its inception. The firm is largely financed byits members, which distinguishes it from similar firms. A considerable part ofawarded and published architecture comes from these architects. The galleryhas woven a thick web of international contacts and cooperation and is also amember of the European Mies Van de Rohe Architecture Award Committee.As a member of the organization board and President of the Slovenian ArchitectsAssociation and Architects’ Society of Ljubljana (since 2006), Andrej Hrauskyrepresents the profession with a decisiveness well suited to the circumstances inSlovenia, which are all too often adverse to architecture. He has been committedto leading architects in their endeavours to implement vital interests associatedwith the profession and space, our causes and goals related to design and theprotection of architectural heritage, and has been successful in facilitating therecognition of architecture within society at large and in promoting responsibleand long-term urban design, particularly as concerns the city of Ljubljana.Andrej Hrausky has played a decisive conceptual and organizational role inthe justification for and foundation of the Chamber of Architecture since 1991,first within the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers (IZS) and later within theindependent Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning - ZAPS.
