The biggestexport is made in the late eighties of the last century, after which there was a reductionin exports. The most important export destinations were Italy and Greece. There are anumber of facts, explanations and interpretations of why there has been a decline inexports. Nevertheless, it is rarely carried out an analysis of live cattle trade as one ofthe links in the vertical chain. Efficient retail chain in the domestic market createsconditions for successful export.This paper analyzes the live cattle trade from the standpoint of primary producersand their customers primarily slaughter industry.
