The main reason for his recall was his longstanding inability to manage the said organisation effectively, the failure to utilise theMuseum’s expert and creative potential, and the loss of credit in the eyes of the expert and general public. On 1 June 2007, the office of managing directorwas assumed by his successor, Mgr. Horymír Kubíček.There were also changes in personnel in the Railway Museum. Mgr. Milan Sýkora left the office of director and in November Mgr. Jiří Střecha was appointedas his replacement. In the second half of the year the priority for personnel policy was to stabilise and improve team cooperation between the various Museum units. Somespecific personnel changes were carried out (financial management of the institution, presentations and the already mentioned Railway Museum). A veryimportant aspect of the new management’s personnel policy is the introduction of the mentoring and assessment of new employees. The positive results ofthis approach were already evident in the second half of 2007.FinanceIn 2007, the National Technical Museum operated with the revenue of CZK 91,605, 000, of which subsidies for operations amounted to CZK 46,041,000.The remainder are the revenues generated by the Museum. Despite this, the NTM recorded an accounting profit of CZK 328,000.58
