SCIENTIFIC REVIEW IN PHARMACY is a peer-reviewedtransdisciplinary journal covering the fields of pharmacy, medicineand related sciences. The journal publishes conferencereports and materials, conference announcements, as well asletters to the Editor.2. All manuscripts should be sent to the Editor, both in a printedand an electronic form. Electronic versions of articles are to besent to kolegium.redakcyjne@kwiecinski.pl or supplied onCD-ROM disks. Printed copies (together with tables, diagramsand figures) should be addressed to:Scientific Review in Pharmacy41-200 Sosnowiecul. Jedności 8Tel: +48 32 364 11 50, +48 514 342 345Fax: +48 32 364 11 58Disk label should contain the first name(s) and surname(s)of the Author(s), and the title of the paper. Text and graphicsshould be included in separate files. Do not paste pictures andgraphics to text files. The Editor advises to use Star Office,Word, or Word Perfect. The acceptable graphics format is *.TIFF, color: CMYK resolution: 300 dpi.3. All submitted manuscripts are reviewed initially by the Editorin-Chief.The Authors are encouraged to suggest their reviewers,however the final selection of a reviewer is up to the EditorialBoard. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to correct orabbreviate the text (after the Author’s approval).Authors are requested to resubmit the revised manuscriptwithin four weeks. Papers that are not resubmitted withinfour weeks will be treated as a new submission.The manuscript that has been rejected by the ScientificReview in Pharmacy should not be resubmitted.4. A cover letter should be included with the manuscript, containinga declaration that the manuscript has not been previouslypublished in print or electronic format and is not under considerationby another journal or electronic medium, signed by allthe Authors. It should also include written approval from thehead of the institution in which the study was conducted.5. All human and animal research will have obtained ethical consentfrom the local Bioethical or Ethical Committee.6. The material sent in and the review will remain among thedocumentation of the Board of Editors.7. Editor purchases, on the basis of exclusiveness, the wholeof the copyrights for the published papers (including the rightto publishing in print, on electronic media, such as CD-ROMdisks, and on the Internet). Reprinting the paper summaries isallowed without any written permission of the Editor.8. Instructions for authors:8.1. Manuscript Page Setup• Paper: white, A4 format.• Margins: 2.5 cm (top, left, right, bottom)• Font: Times New Roman, no smaller than 12 points.• Text: Double-spaced, one side of the page only.• Numbering: Insert page numbers at bottom right of eachpage.• Paragraphs: Indent first line 12.7 mm. Do not use an extraline space between paragraphs.• Subheads: All subheads should be flush with the left margin,with one line above. Indent first line after a subhead. Use anextra line space between the subhead and the text.• Title or Heading of the article: boldface, on separateline.• Second-level subhead: boldface, on separate line.• Third-level subhead: italic, on separate line.8.2. Organization of Manuscript• Title page should include: submission date and Author(s)full names, i.e. first name(s) and surname(s), Authors’full current affiliations (for papers with multiply authors,please e<strong>numer</strong>ate the authors and their affiliations in thefollowing way: Author 1 , Author 2 , etc; 1 Affiliation, 2 Affiliation,etc.). Affiliations should contain the full name of the institution.One corresponding author must be designated forpapers with coauthors. At the bottom of the page the fullname, academic degrees/titles, and address of the correspondingauthor should be given, including the telephonenumber, fax number and/or e-mail address. If researchhas been funded, please indicate the source of funding(including grant index/symbol, grant agencies, corporations,or sponsors).• The second page should include an abstract (150-250words). The abstract must be self-contained, and must notrequire reference to the paper to be understood. The abstractshould present objectives and scope of the study orreasons for writing the paper. The methods and techniquesor approaches should be described only to the extent necessaryfor comprehension. The findings and conclusionsshould be concise and informative. The abstract shouldbe followed by the key words consistent with the MedicalSubject Headings Index Medicus, and should not containunfamiliar terms that are not defined, undefined acronymsand reference citations. Neither displayed equations orlists should appear in the abstract.• Body text should be organized as follows:original paper - introduction, material and methods descriptions,research results, discussion;review papers – free structure;case studies – introduction (motivation for the study), casedescriptions, discussion of the characteristic symptoms,treatment results etc.• Figures (diagrams, drawings, color or black-and-whitephotographs) should be put into a separate envelope. Oneach figure there should be its number (Arabic <strong>numer</strong>als),the name(s) of the author(s) paper title, and “top” marking.Figure captions should be placed on separate pages andnumbered consecutively using Arabic <strong>numer</strong>als. Previouslypublished visual materials should be supplied togetherwith the written consent of the Publisher for reprint.• Tables, each on a separate page, should be numberedusing Roman <strong>numer</strong>als and preceded by their captions.Table captions should be placed on separate pages, numberedusing Roman <strong>numer</strong>als.• The papers should not exceed the following limitations:original and review work – 10 pages and others – 5 pages.8.3. References to the works cited should be presented at theend of the paper and arranged according to the sequenceof citations in the body text. The acronyms for journal titlesshould be used according to Index Medicus. Each entry,starting with a new line, should be given a number andmust be presented as follows:• journal citation:Varga J, Abraham D. Systemic sclerosis: a prototypicmultisystem fibrotic disorder. J Clin Invest 2007; 117:557-67.If there are more than three authors, the name of the firstone should be given, followed by an ,,et al” annotation.Komosińska-Vassev K et al.
