Puṣpitāgrā = (26 verses)<strong>The</strong> Puṣpitāgrā metre, which is <strong>de</strong>rived from Aupacchandasaka, with resolution <strong>of</strong>the 3rd syllable in both lines. It is employed to conclu<strong>de</strong> Chapters I, V, and VIII.⏑⏑⏑⏑⏑⏑¦−⏑−⏑−−¦¦⏑⏑⏑⏑−⏑⏑¦−⏑−⏑−×2. Rucirā = (3 verses)<strong>The</strong> Rucirā metre is <strong>de</strong>rived from the Vaṁśastha metre, with resolution <strong>of</strong> the 5thsyllable, which gives it 14 syllables to the pāda. <strong>The</strong> scheme <strong>of</strong> the metre is asfollows:⏑−⏑−,¦⏑⏑⏑⏑¦−⏑−⏑×there is a <strong>de</strong>finite caesura after the 4th syllable. <strong>The</strong> metre is only emplowed in 3verses, twice at the conclusion <strong>of</strong> Chapter III, and again at the conclusion <strong>of</strong>Chapter XII.3. Praharṣiṇī = (3 verses)This metre conclu<strong>de</strong>s two Chapters, numbers IX (2 verses), and X, it’s scheme canbe given as:−−−,⏑⏑⏑⏑−⏑−⏑−−and again there is a <strong>de</strong>finite caesura in the line, this time at the 3rd after a run <strong>of</strong>heavy syllables.
