Site indexes (mean heights in the age 100 years) weredetermined according to domestic yield tables (HALAJ et al. 1987).Tree species from Hrhov reach site indexes in the range 16-26 andfrom Periská locality 16-28. Austrian pine and Scots pine reach inthe locality Hrhov the same site indexes in the range 18-26, Mannaash has site indexes 16-18 and oaks 18-20. On experimental plots inthe locality Periská is the range of site indexes, with some smallexceptions, more similar to each other what concerns respective treespecies, and especially of Austrian pine which has site indexes in therange 22-24. Scots pine has site indexes in the range 20-22. Mannaash has site index 16 and beech 18.Though original intention of the afforestation of degraded landswas only establishment of any forest stand, after about 20-40 yearswe may state that both pine species may reach even site classes. Itmeans that a protective forest may become in future also a forestproducing wood. Other tree species have not such potentialSUMMARY~ 365 ~
