PLANTING MATERIAL PRODUCTION FORBIOLOGICAL RECULTIVATION OF DEPOSOLSMilorad Veselinović, Dragana Dražić, Vesna GolubovićĆurguz, Nevena Čule, Suzana Mitrović, Biljana Nikolić,Ljubinko RakonjacInstitute of forestry, Belgrade, SerbiaAbstract: In order to mitigate the harmful effects of the developmentof open pit mining, it is necessary to monitor biological reclamationworks and arranging disposal of degraded landscapes. It is a way tore-establish the different vegetal and other ecosystems on deposols. The success of the process of biological reclamation by afforestationdepends on the quality of seedlings planted on the ground, whichshould give maximum biological and economic effects. Classicalproduction of seedlings in the conventional or modified Dunemansbed currently dominates in the production of forest seedlings. Thesame technological processes of production are applied to all treeplants, regardless of its purpose. That produced seedlings are usedfor planting in the best habitats with the greatest productionpotential as well as for planting on degraded terrain with extremehabitats. The consequences of using insufficient prepared plantingmaterials are its slow growth and reduce tolerance to adverse bioticand abiotic influences. In this way, regardless of the proper selectionregardless of the proper selection of species its potential is limitedand success of afforestation is uncertain.Adverse conditions whichare exposed to plants that are used in the process of biologicalreclamation of deposols dumps have influenced the development ofnursery production plants along the "targeted production", ordedicated plants for specific areas. This paper presents a newconcept of development of production of planting materials for theKP Kolubara.Key words: biological reclamation/ target plants production/doposol~ 284 ~
