THE IMPORTANCE OF ESTABLISHING THEECOREMEDIATION POLYGONEcoremediations as an emerging technologies will in additionto conservation, preservation and rehabilitation of the environmentalso bring other development opportunities that will allow thestrengthening of knowledge, health, new jobs and reduce the costs ofenvironmental remediation. With promotion of the ecoremediationtechnologies we want people to be aware of the consideration fromany intervention in the natural environment and we also want tohighlight the importance of educational functions for theunderstanding the meaning of ecoremediation for the nature andprocesses in it [6]. From this perspective municipality Poljčanelinked together with the International ekoremediation Centre inMaribor and we have successfully carried out a project of building aclassroom in nature, so called ecoremediation polygon, which willhelp as a learning center for education and training in the field ofenvironmental protection to those who are a part of formal educationprograms as well as all the local community which will be in theform of informal education programs involved in learning processesat this track. Ecoremediation polygon is located in the municipalityPoljčane in the place Modraže, extends 5 hectares and allows studyof mechanisms and processes that occur in nature [3]. On theeducational track ecoremediation polygon offers three types ofecoremediation: Natural ecoremediationConstructed ecoremediation and a training center (Laboratory).With the help of specific skills which acquired by learner during thetraining ground, they can identify environmental problems in thelocal environment and also identify the most effective solutions withthe help of one ecoremediation technology. Visitors of polygon canlearn about the causal functioning of each ecotope and experiencedirect contact with the nature. At this track they can observe thedifference between natural and regulated natural riverbed, looking atthe characteristics of basins, riverbeds and banks, recognize featureshedgerows, wetlands and meadows and learn about the role of forestand observe different species in it. As a Constructed ecoremediationthey can know the function of vegetation belts, get to know thefunctioning of wetlands, fitoremediation surface, learn to drawcompost, to recognize the importance of the rehabilitation scheme~ 279 ~
