Abstract: Industrial facilities in Serbia situated in urban zonesdischarge their wastewater into city sewage systems, for the mostpart without prior treatment. Large industrial facilities locatedoutside of settlements on river banks or in their vicinity also disposeof their waste water directly into streams, without prior refinement.The PKB-Corporation is an example of a production facility whichdeals with its by-products in a similar way. In spite of numerousefforts to solve the problem of industrial wastewater throughelaborating execution studies and projects, they were neverimplemented as a result of lack of funds.This work describes the way in which wastewaters originating fromthe industrial processes of Imlek, Frikom, Ishra, and the PKB-Corporation are treated, their quality and effect on the environment.Moreover, suggestions are given regarding sanitation measures andphytoremediation of the degraded area.Key words: industry/ PKB-Corporation/ wastewater/ecoremediationUVODSavremeni razvoj teritorije Pančevačkog rita uslovio je sve većepotrebe za kvalitetnom vodom, što je inteziviralo napore PKB-a igrada Beograda u rešavanju problema vodosnabdevanja, bilo da seradi o snabdevanju vodom za piće stanovništva, zadovoljavanjukomunalnih, odnosno, potreba industrije, navodnjavanja i dr.Pančevački rit se nalazi između reka Dunav i Tamiš i kanalaKaraš sto ga cini polderom tj ostrvom. Ukupna površina zemljišneteritorije je 32. 000 ha, od čega PKB Korporaciji pripada oko 24. 000ha. Kote terena područja se kreću od 69. 50 do 76. 00 mnm.Korporacija raspolaže sa jakom poljoprivredom, stočarstvom iindustrijskom preradom životnih namirnica. Sam teren na kome seona nalazi je nepropustiv i sa visokim nivoom podzemnihvoda.Pored osnovne poljoprivredne i stočarske proizvodnje, PKBima izgrađen sistem za crpljenje i preradu vode koja služi za piće, uproizvodnji životnih namirnica, pojenje stoke, zalivanje bašta i td.Razvojem poljoprivredne proizvodnje, uporedo se razvijala iprerađivačka industrija sa savremenom tehnologijom, što je uslovilo~ 148 ~
