Dear Mrs. Rafuna,Thank you for your e-mail with the questions regarding KIJAC.Please find our answers below:1) The Ministry has been informed about the situation surrounding KIJAC since the beginning ofthis year. The Ministry takes very seriously the allegations of financial misconduct and theconfirmation that KIJAC lack the necessary accreditation from Kosovo’s authorities for theschool’s curriculum. Therefore, the Ministry has initiated its own investigation into thoseallegations in order to get the facts on the table. This process is still ongoing so at the moment itis too early to draw any conclusions. We nevertheless hope to have finalized our investigationsoon.2) The activities at KIJAC have ceased to exist and there is a possibility that the KIJAC institution willbe terminated. But the Ministry have made an agreement with the American University inKosovo (AUK) so that the remaining students from KIJAC can take their final exams at AUK. Theremaining students from KIJAC are currently studying at AUK.3) When we know the facts about the situation at KIJAC from our investigations, the Ministry willdecide on what steps it shall take next. This also include information to the public. It should bepointed out that the Ministry has already explained this situation and what the Ministry is doingin this case to the Norwegian press and representatives of the press in Kosovo.4) We believe the answer to this question will come from the ongoing investigation. But asmentioned above, it is too early to draw any conclusions at this point in time.5) Norway disbursed a total amount of approx euro 6,25 million from 2005- 2010 to the project.6) As mentioned above, the Ministry has through the press informed the public of the seriousnessof the allegations and that the Ministry is currently looking into the situation at KIJAC.I hope you will find this information useful. Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you havefurther questions.Best regards,Jon HansenJon HansenCounsellor - Deputy Head of MissionRoyal Norwegian Embassy - PrishtinaTel: + 381 38 232 111 00Fax: + 381 38 232 111 22Mob: + 386 49 201 015E-mail: jon.hansen@mfa.nowww.norway-kosovo.no19
