Przegląd Wojsk Lądowych (The Land Forces Review)
Dear Readers,
the opening article of this issue of “Przegląd Wojsk Lądowych” (“The Land
Forces Review”) is by the chief of communication and IT forces on evolution
of communication means in favor of IT tools, which are much faster in
transmitting information. The article presents wider scope of tasks
implemented with the use of information technology that this branch of
the armed forces must face. NATO requirements generate the need for
simulation systems expanding command support system on tactical level
below battalion, which makes it possible to function in network centric
environments in the future.
The following article focuses on changes in missile and artillery forces
as well as implementation status of operational programs resulting in
the growth of these forces’ fire potential and rapid reaction on battlefield.
There are also articles on conducting warfare in specific environment such as coastal waters. Authors
characterize the specificity of Polish coast, and how individual branches of the armed forces can be
deployed in defense operations.
Another articles present how to use the KTO Rosomak armored vehicle in urban warfare, and the WLR-
100 Liwiec mobile weapon-locating radar system for additional artillery tasks.
Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator (TALIN) 5000 mounted on WR-40 Langusta launchers is
described in the following material by author who shares his own experience about the use of this
equipment, and arrives at the conclusion that it very much facilitates combat at firing-post.
Another articles discuss: trainings Forward Air Controller teams to effectively do their job and radar
simulators to train their servicing crew.
Last but not least, there are articles presenting ongoing issues in the armies of our neighbors, such
as development of tanks and their introduction to the arsenal of the Russian army, or equipping German
military contingent with self-propelled howitzers (Panzerhaubitze 2000).
We hope that our readers will find the remaining articles equally interesting.

Warunki zamieszczania prac
Materiały (w wersji elektronicznej) do „Przeglądu Wojsk Lądowych” prosimy przesyłać na adres: Wojskowy Instytut
Wydawniczy, Aleje Jerozolimskie 97, 00-909 Warszawa lub przeglad-sz@zbrojni.pl. Opracowanie musi być podpisane
imieniem i nazwiskiem z podaniem stopnia wojskowego i tytułu naukowego. Należy również podać numery: NIP,
PESEL, dowodu osobistego oraz konta bankowego, a także dokładny adres służbowy, prywatny i urzędu skarbowego
oraz numer telefonu, datę i miejsce urodzenia, jak również imiona rodziców. Ponadto należy dołączyć zdjęcie
z aktualnym stopniem wojskowym. W przypadku braku wymaganych danych nie będziemy mogli opublikować danego
materiału. Instytut przyjmuje materiały opracowane w formie artykułów. Ich objętość powinna wynosić ok. 13 tys.
znaków (co odpowiada 4 stronom kwartalnika). Rysunki i szkice należy przygotować zgodnie z wymaganiami poligrafii
(najlepiej w programie Ilustrator lub Corel), zdjęcia w formacie tiff lub jpeg – rozdzielczość 300 dpi. Należy podać
źródła, z których autor korzystał przy opracowywaniu materiału. Niezamówionych artykułów Instytut nie zwraca.
Zastrzega sobie przy tym prawo do dokonywania poprawek stylistycznych oraz skracania i uzupełniania artykułów
bez naruszania myśli autora. Autorzy opublikowanych prac otrzymają honoraria według obowiązujących stawek.
Oryginalne rysunki i zdjęcia zakwalifikowane do druku honoruje się oddzielnie.
