ZAKRES TEMATYCZNY PRZEDMIOTU:
Comparing people, objects, numbers and actions – comparatives and superlatives (as … as, less … than …, the most …);
Time expressions – spend time, waste time, etc.;
Opposite adjectives – negative prefixes (un-, im-, in-, etc);
Uses of the infinitive – adjectives + infinitive, verbs + infinitive, expressing purpose;
Uses of the gerund – verbs + -ing, subject of a sentence, -ing after a preposition;
Talking about rules, obligations/lack of obligation, prohibitions;
Expressing movement – prepositions of movement
Possible future situations and their consequences – first conditional;
Impossible/improbable or hypothetical future situations and its consequences – second conditional;
Practical English: asking and giving directions, describing emotions, shopping – at a department store, writing e-mails
Comparing numbers – mathematical symbols: less than, greater than;
Basic operations of arithmetic – revision and extension
Readings in astronomy – planets, history of astronomy
