Utangulizi<br />

Kutekelez<strong>wa</strong> k<strong>wa</strong> kanuni za kilimo bora cha<br />

korosho ndiyo njia pekee itakayomhakikishia<br />

mkulima mazao mengi na bora. Ubora <strong>wa</strong><br />

korosho huanzia moja k<strong>wa</strong> moja shambani<br />

kutegemeana na matunzo ya shamba na<br />

mikorosho yenyewe.<br />

Ni dhahiri k<strong>wa</strong>mba hali ya he<strong>wa</strong> iki<strong>wa</strong> nzuri,<br />

shamba likape<strong>wa</strong> matunzo mazuri pamoja na<br />

mikorosho kupe<strong>wa</strong> kinga thabiti dhidi ya<br />

magonj<strong>wa</strong> na <strong>wa</strong>dudu <strong>wa</strong>haribifu, mkulima<br />

anaweza kujihakikishia mavuno mengi na<br />

bora. K<strong>wa</strong> kufanya hivyo mkulima ataweza<br />

kupata korosho nyingi za daraja la k<strong>wa</strong>nza<br />

ambazo zitampatia malipo mazuri.<br />

Kuokota <strong>Korosho</strong><br />

<strong>Korosho</strong> zilizokomaa vizuri huanguka<br />

zenyewe kutoka kwenye miti (Picha Na 1).<br />

Aina nyingi za mikorosho huangusha korosho<br />

ziki<strong>wa</strong> zimeunganika na bibo lake. Uokotaji<br />

<strong>wa</strong> korosho hufanyika kila baada ya siku moja<br />

au zaidi kutegemeana na utaratibu <strong>wa</strong> mwenye<br />

shamba alivyojipangia. Hali ya he<strong>wa</strong>, ukub<strong>wa</strong><br />

<strong>wa</strong> shamba na wizi ni baadhi ya mambo<br />

ambayo yanaweza kumfanya mkulima aokote<br />

korosho zake kila mara.<br />

Baada ya korosho hizo kuokot<strong>wa</strong>,<br />

hutenganish<strong>wa</strong> na bibo na kisha nyama<br />

inayobakia kwenye kikonyo cha korosho<br />

huondole<strong>wa</strong> k<strong>wa</strong> kutumia kisu au kifaa cho<br />

chote chenye makali.<br />

Kukausha korosho<br />

<strong>Korosho</strong> zilizovun<strong>wa</strong> zinataki<strong>wa</strong> zianikwe<br />

kwenye jua angalau k<strong>wa</strong> siku mbili au tatu<br />

kutegemeana na hali ya he<strong>wa</strong>. Wakati<br />

zimeanik<strong>wa</strong> zinataki<strong>wa</strong> kugeuz<strong>wa</strong> geuz<strong>wa</strong> ili<br />

kuhakikisha zote zinakauka vizuri. <strong>Korosho</strong><br />

zichaguliwe na kupang<strong>wa</strong> <strong>katika</strong> madaraja<br />

kabla ya kuhifadhi<strong>wa</strong> kwenye magunia.<br />

<strong>Upangaji</strong> <strong>wa</strong> korosho <strong>katika</strong> madaraja ni <strong>wa</strong><br />

muhimu ili kumwezesha mkulima apate bei<br />

nzuri k<strong>wa</strong> daraja la k<strong>wa</strong>nza.<br />

<strong>Korosho</strong> zipangwe kwenye madaraja mawili<br />

k<strong>wa</strong> kuzingatia sifa zifuatazo:-<br />

Daraja la K<strong>wa</strong>nza (Standard Grade- SG) –<br />

• Zimekomaa vizuri, unyevu asilimia 12.<br />

• Zitatoa mlio <strong>wa</strong> sauti kali ukiziangusha<br />

kwenye sakafu.<br />

• Zina rangi ya kijivu au kikahawia<br />

kilichofifia.<br />

• Hazina makunyanzi.<br />

• Hazina madoa kwenye ganda la nje.<br />

• Zina umbile safi.<br />
