September 1943. After capitulation of Italy, it continued to increase<br />
rapidly and at the end of 1944 there were 60.4% Croats, 28.6% Serbs<br />
and 11% of other unknown nationalities in Croatians partisan units.<br />
All in all, when these indicators are compared with number of partisans<br />
in other republics of ex-Yugoslavia, Croats from Croatia made up for<br />
40% more in relation to Yugoslav average. Serbs from Croatia, who<br />
constituted 4-5% total Yugoslav population, made up for almost 10%<br />
of total members of People’s Liberation Army of Yugoslavia.<br />
