Summary
This paper represents spectrum of new opportunities — synchronic
and diachronic studying of Neo–avant–garde direction
near Serbian literature — Signalism, which continuously exists
almost fifty years. Also, between continuous artistic creation,
Signalism has remarkable reception; not so much in Serbia,
but in the world Signalism has important reception. Considering
the duration of literary and cultural significance that
signalist art has, it was necessary to explain the problem near
Signalism, that its specifically part of Serbian Neo–avant–
garde, but also Postmodernism and symbolist (50 th years of
the twentieth century) and baroque tendency (80’s years of the
twentieth century). Starting with signalist “reception aesthetics”,
which involves the active participation of “super–reader”
in creating a sense, in this paper was discussed about social
and political conditionality within Neo–avant–garde, also —
Signalism and “culture jamming”. Then, it was presented on
the examples in what ways Signalism completes aesthetics by
historical avant–garde; and it was represented complexity in
relations between Signalism and Postmodernism, Signalism
and Symbolism, Signalism and Baroque, and between Signalism
and movie, in terms of view on movie like essential core,
from which it is possible to see new aspects of interdisciplinary
interpretations. By comparative and interdisciplinary
method, with literary–historical and theoretical research, it is
possible to come to some interesting and important conclusions.
In this paper we were speaking about some genres by
signalist Neo–avant–garde art; except visual poetry and slang
poetry and prose, there are — scientistic, phenomenological,
technological, ready–made, stochastic, aleatory, computer,
statistical, kinetic, phonic, concrete, gesture, object poetry,
and mail–art. In the scientific literature it has been written
about this genres very much. This paper, however, mentions
two new genres — essays lightning–gram and signalist diaries.
About essays lightning–gram and signalist diaries like genres
has not been written until now, because the books where we
can read about them were published recently: Language and
ineffable (2011), The diary of Signalism (2012), by creator of
Signalism — Miroljub Todorović (1940).
Key words: Neo–avant–garde, Postmodernism, Signalism,
Symbolism, Baroque, Literary Theory and Practice, “open
text”, “culture jamming”.
