33 rd European Pharmaceutical Students’ Association
Annual Congress,
April 26 th – May 2 nd 2010, Krakow, Poland
European Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (EPSA) represents over 120,000 Pharmacy students
in 32 European countries.
The original objectives of EPSA were established in 1982, and were expanded and updated at the 21st EPSA
congress in Alcala de Henares and Madrid, Spain in 1998, when the whole structure of EPSA was revised.
The main aim of EPSA is to:
“Develop the interests and opinions of European Pharmacy students
and to encourage contact and co-operation between them”
There are several ways in which EPSA acts in order to fulfill this aim:z
- Maintenance of a permanent web of contact and exchange of information for and between Pharmacy students
and their representative organizations
- Development of a campaign to increase the mobility of European Pharmacy students particularly for periods
of academic, practical or research work abroad
- Development of a consensus of opinion between European Pharmacy students on Pharmacy Education and on
other
issues relevant to their interests and the profession of Pharmacy
- Development and organization of activities supported by the above opinions which serve to increase the profile
of Pharmacy students and the profession
- Organization of events in accordance with the specification of the Regulations, Standing Orders and Handbook
of the Association
- Support and/or organization of any other activities deemed to be in keeping with the EPSA’s aims
Annual Congress
The EPSA Annual Congress is the biggest and most important event in the EPSA calendar. This is an opportunity for
all the EPSA members to meet and discuss EPSA and the Pharmacy profession in general. The EPSA Annual Congress
consists of an educational program, General Assemblies and a social program. The event lasts for a week. The EPSA
Annual Congress is also a chance for the delegates from all the Member Organizations to come together to refuel their
spirit and enthusiasm for the upcoming year.
EPSA organizes workshops and trainings during this event, covering these fields: Humanitarian, Pharmacy Education,
Pharmacy Awareness, Professional Development, Public Health, Mobility and Pharmaceutical Sciences
During the Annual Congress the new team of EPSA is elected for a one-year mandate by the Ordinary Members of
EPSA. A yearly report from each mandate in EPSA is presented and voted upon by the officials.
The Social Program consists of different things from congress to congress, and it is always exciting and fun.
The 33 rd EPSA Annual Congress is held by Students’ Section of Polish Pharmaceutical Society “Young Pharmacy”
in Krakow, Poland from April 26 th to May 2 nd 2010. The topic of the event is Patents, generics and counterfeiting
