Southern limit of the Zagorsko – Laške basin is now undecided. The question is wether the south wing of the
coal ever franked in the area layer Hrastnik.
Coal socka beds
Coal contains so called socka beds belonging to the upper oligocene age. Lower socka beds consists of bright
clay up to a dark and gradually passes into coal. This layer of a mixture of white and black clay is called floor
strata. Coal layer to act as a mass of clottedbut sand and clay sheets are divided into several layers. The most
important are dual inputs, consisting of light gray sandy clay and coal are separated into two approximately
equal parts, and in floor strata and roof strata part. Roof strata layer of clean coal has more weight and greater
heat value of coal floor strata work. The coal seams here and there strike the remnants of shells. At the coal
seams lying layers of black, combustible shale. Followed by thin layers of marl, which is above and below
brownish gray color. This is the caprock. The overburned is completed oligocene canyon funds.
It belong to the Miocene marine clay layers of green and gray »govški« sandstone, which lies above.
»Govški« sandstone follows below lithuanian limestone, which is the lowermost conglomerat developed in the
upper layers and passes in a compact homogeneus substance. In the western part of the Zagorje basin occupies
the bottom of the lithuanian limestone, sea clay and sandstone »govškim«, the largest part of the tertiary area. It
goes thrugh Trbovlje – Hrastnik basin and formes a lower average lithuanian limestone ridge axis. lithuanian
limestone rises to the top of Kovk. At the bottom of lithuania lying limestone marl layers of the Laško, which is
gray, yellowish, brownish, sometimes blue and strong, and the cracks in thin plates. Top layers of tertiary in the
Zagorje – Laško basin represent sarmatian layers belonging to pliocene.
In the event that the tertiary layer Zagorje – Laško basin reminded in its original position, would now have the
following geological sequence from top to bottom:
- Sarmat layers,
- Lower lithunia limestone,
- Runner marl,
- »Govški« marine clay and sandstone,
- Combustible black caprock,
- Coal,
- Combustible black floor stone,
- White floor stone,
- Pseudozilik late,
- Triadic dolomit limestone
Slika 1: Longitudinal profile of Zasavksa basin
Folding of the earth is crossing the erath´s history in the tertiary is not stopped but continued. This has led to
significant changes. It must have been stronger on the north side of east Zagorje – Laško basin. Therefore, it is
raised and the lower edges of the productive layer reached the surface. On the south side of the basin below are
dropped in the deep layers and the surface layer only other litavskega limestone and marl of the Laško.
Folding is a versatile way to transform coal layer. The city is torn apart and folds some parts to push up other
down. Quite to the wrinkles thrown in the crease. Thus, the coal layer in some parts of the Trbovlje get double,
Kisovec even five time the risk of obesity. More than in Zagorje and Trbovlje is heaving in Hrastnik.
