Additional, in case of work with children
• Insist on respect of the right of the child to family, including a thorough
and long-term work with the parents or the family of the child in order
for this right to be exercised (consistently, timely, meticulous and individualized
implementation of family legal protection measures), with the accommodation
into another family or institution appearing only as a last resort,
in the best interest of the child;
• Ensure temporary, emergency guardianship when so required for
children — citizens of the Republic of Serbia and for children — foreign nationals;
• Guarantee inclusion into the educational system and monitor inclusion
with a view to drop-outs, in the process of protection of children — victims
of human trafficking,
• Develop and implement specialised training and sensitisation programmes
for employees in institutions for accommodation of children;
• Involve foster families, especially trained for dealing with child victims
of abuse and neglect (including children — victims of human trafficking),
in the process of protection of children — victims, in the spirit of the reform of
the system towards decentralised social protection services;
• Enhance the capacity of the existing services for protection of children
from abuse and neglect in a comprehensive and inclusive way, instead
of establishment of separate mechanism for children — victims of human trafficking
only.
