ZAŠTITA ŽRTAVA I PREVENCIJA TRGOVINE LJUDIMA U SRBIJI
systemic involvement of state institutions in developing a regulatory framework
and implementing preventive and direct assistance measures. Therefore
the Study provides a framework for enhancing all the national capacities to
provide an adequate and timely response to the issues posed by human trafficking
(the questions of cause and alleviation of consequences).
The process of elaboration of the Study entailed also work on research
of causes (with interviews with the identified and potential victims of trafficking
willing to give a significant contribution to development of policies in
this area, inter alia), and of different dimensions of response to the consequences
of the phenomena (analysis of the data available on the current regulatory
framework, preventive measures and direct assistance programmes).
The analysis of findings has allowed for development of recommendations
for future involvement of all the actors in the Republic of Serbia, and also set
a foundation for thorough planning of the Joint Programme activities, in the
first place.
The intention of the authors was to offer a wider framework for examining
of the area and identify policies that should include various aspects
of combating human trafficking. Thus the structure of the Study: political and
regulatory framework for examination of the National Referral Mechanism, its
development over the past five years; examination of the different dimensions
of human trafficking (trends); analysis of preventive measures and activities;
analysis of measures and activities in the area of protection of the victims of
human trafficking (direct assistance) and recommendations for improvement
of responses in the mentioned areas.
