Kanji Ueda je profesor na RACE institutu (Reserch into Artifacts Center for Engineering) pri Sveučilištu u<br />

Tokyo, gdje je voditelj od Research Division of Co-creation Engineering. On je magistrirao je strojarstvo<br />

1972 godine na Osaka Sveučilištu, te je doktorirao 1978 godine na istom sveučilištu. Posljednjih 30 godina<br />

bio je angažiran na istraživanju i edukaciji na polju proizvodnih sustava i računarne inteligencije na<br />

sljedećim sveučilištima: Kobe University, Kanazawa University i the University of Tokyo. Publicirao je više<br />

od 400 znanstvenih radova i 15 knjiga. Tijekom svoje profesionalne karijere primio je mnoge nagrade za<br />

najbolje znanstvene radove i istraživačke nagrade od različitih akademskih zajednica i istraživačkih<br />

fondacija. On isto tako aktivno sudjeluje u više editorskih odbora kao co-editor.<br />
