There are two libraries with library holdings and reading-room that are at disposal of the students enrolled in
both, university and professional studies. There are altogether 1905 users in Osijek and 545 users in Vinkovci.
Library holdings are at disposal of the staff and other users too. In the past reporting period the Library in
Osijek disposed of 5145 books, in Vinkovci it disposed of 3272 books. In the library holdings there are 180
Master theses, 105 PhD theses, 3485 graduation theses and 107 theses defended at the Faculty. The Library
in Osijek offers 16 different national periodicals, 13 issues belong to donations, plus ten that have been
exchanged for periodical „Agriculture“ („Poljoprivreda“). The number of international periodicals decreased
due to e-access (Elsevier- Science Direct, SpringerLink, EJOL, Hrčak etc).
The Library cooperates successfully with the libraries on national and international level, including regular
exchanges. The most developed cooperation is with the libraries of SZI Prirodoslovlje, City nad University
Library in Osijek, which serves as international link to British Library and to Subito. There is also access to
other library catalogues, to data bases and e-zines. In on-line catalogue called „Prirodoslovlje“ it is possible
to search for library holdings of the Faculty of Agriculture and to do the exchange of books and periodicals.
Publishing of textbooks and of the periodical „Agriculture“ belong to regular activities of the Library.
Librarians take part in professional workshop activities. Within continuous professional education they are
expected to take preliminary exams organized by National and University Library, Faculty of Philosophy
and City and University Library. Introductory discussions regarding applying of new software for university
purposes as well as for library-IT system are in progress.
