ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਾਧ ਮਗ ਸੁਿਨ ਕਿਰ ਿਨਮਖ ਨ ਹਿਰ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बेद पुरान साध मग सुिन किर िनमख न हिर गुन गावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
bayd puraan saaDh mag sun kar nimakh na har gun gaavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
This mind listens to the Vedas, the Puraanas, and the ways of the Holy Saints, but it does
not sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, for even an instant. ||1||Pause||
ਦੁਰਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਪਾਇ ਮਾਨਸ ਕੀ ਿਬਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਿਸਰਾਵੈ ॥
दुरलभ देह पाइ मानस की िबरथा जनमु िसरावै ॥
durlabh dayh paa-ay maanas kee birthaa janam siraavai.
Having obtained this human body, so very difficult to obtain, it is now being uselessly
wasted.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਮਹਾ ਸੰਕਟ ਬਨ ਤਾ ਿਸਉ ਰੁਚ ਉਪਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
माइआ मोह महा संकट बन ता िसउ रुच उपजावै ॥१॥
maa-i-aa moh mahaa sankat ban taa si-o ruch upjaavai. ||1||
Emotional attachment to Maya is such a treacherous wilderness, and yet, people are in
love with it. ||1||
ਅੰਤਿਰ ਬਾਹਿਰ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਿਗ ਪਰ੍ਭੁ ਤਾ ਿਸਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਨ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
अंतिर बाहिर सदा संिग पर्भु ता िसउ नेहु न लावै ॥
antar baahar sadaa sang parabh taa si-o nayhu na laavai.
Inwardly and outwardly, God is always with them, and yet, they do not enshrine Love for
Him.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮੁਕਿਤ ਤਾਿਹ ਤੁਮ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਿਜਹ ਘਿਟ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੬॥
नानक मुकित तािह तुम मानहु िजह घिट रामु समावै ॥२॥६॥
naanak mukat taahi tum maanhu jih ghat raam samaavai. ||2||6||
O Nanak, know that those whose hearts are filled with the Lord are liberated. ||2||6||
