ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥
बसंतु महला ९ ॥

Basant, Ninth Mehl:
ਮਾਈ ਮੈ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਹਿਰ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
माई मै धनु पाइओ हिर नामु ॥
maa-ee mai Dhan paa-i-o har naam.
O mother, I have gathered the wealth of the Lord's Name.
ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਧਾਵਨ ਤੇ ਛੂਿਟਓ ਕਿਰ ਬੈਠੋ ਿਬਸਰਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मनु मेरो धावन ते छू िटओ किर बैठो िबसरामु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
man mayro Dhaavan tay chhooti-o kar baitho bisraam. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My mind has stopped its wanderings, and now, it has come to rest. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਇਆ ਮਮਤਾ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਭਾਗੀ ਉਪਿਜਓ ਿਨਰਮਲ ਿਗਆਨੁ ॥
माइआ ममता तन ते भागी उपिजओ िनरमल िगआनु ॥
maa-i-aa mamtaa tan tay bhaagee upji-o nirmal gi-aan.
Attachment to Maya has run away from my body, and immaculate spiritual wisdom has
welled up within me.
ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਏਹ ਪਰਿਸ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਗਹੀ ਭਗਿਤ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧॥
लोभ मोह एह परिस न साकै गही भगित भगवान ॥१॥
lobh moh ayh paras na saakai gahee bhagat bhagvaan. ||1||
Greed and attachment cannot even touch me; I have grasped hold of devotional worship
of the Lord. ||1||
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੰਸਾ ਚੂਕਾ ਰਤਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਬ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
जनम जनम का संसा चूका रतनु नामु जब पाइआ ॥
janam janam kaa sansaa chookaa ratan naam jab paa-i-aa.
The cynicism of countless lifetimes has been eradicated, since I obtained the jewel of the
Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਿਤਰ੍ਸਨਾ ਸਕਲ ਿਬਨਾਸੀ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਿਨਜ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਿਹ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
ितर्सना सकल िबनासी मन ते िनज सुख मािह समाइआ ॥२॥
tarisnaa sakal binaasee man tay nij sukh maahi samaa-i-aa. ||2||
My mind was rid of all its desires, and I was absorbed in the peace of my own inner being.
