ГЛАВА V ВНУТРИКЛЕТОЧНЫЕ МИКРООРГАНИЗМЫ — СИМБИОНТЫ В середине X IX столетия зоологи и энтомологи начали знакомиться с внутренним строением насекомых при помощи микроскопа. К этому времени им уже хорошо были известны главные органы и структуры организма насекомого, но многие мелкие детали еще не были изучены. Функции многих органов и тканей или были совершенно неизвестны, или о них только догадывались. К частям организма, функцию которых надо было объяснить, относились некоторые ткани и небольшие, похожие на органы, образования разной формы и размера, лежащие в определенных участках тела насекомого. Вначале при рассмотрении этих органов в них не находили особого, заслуживающего внимания строения и им приписывались неясные и неопределенные функции. Таково было положение в 1850 г., когда цитолог Лейдигописал эти специфические органы у тлей, а затем Гекели (1858), Бальбиани (1866—• 1871) и Таннрейтер (1907) изучили эти образования в своих работах, посвященных Aphididae. Эти ткани известны в настоящее время под названием «мицетомов», однако раньше их называли «псев- довителлусами», «зелеными телами» или «симбиотическими органами». Примерно в то же время, когда были обнаружены и описаны мицетомы тлей, особые микроскопические тельца были найдены в гемолимфе щитовок. Лейдиг (1850, 1854), работая с Lecanium hes- peridum Burm., обнаружил в гемолимфе своеобразные маленькие ланцетовидные тельца, размножавшиеся почкованием. Лейдиг не понял их значения, не понял этого позже и Пэтнем (1880), когда он заметил похожие на грибы образования в теле щитовки P ulvinaria innumerabilis Rath. В 1886 г. Блохман сообщил о наличии бак- териоподобных форм в оболочках фолликулов и в яйцах муравьев и ос. Он убедился в бактериальной природе этих телец (1887, 1888) после того, как увидел сходные тельца в жировом теле и в яйцах тараканов. Вскоре его наблюдения были подтверждены многими исследователями. В конце концов пришли к убеждению, что эти своеобразные дрожже- и бактериоподобные организмы аналогичны сходным тельцам, обнаруженным внутри псевдовителлусов, или мицетомов, как их называют в настоящее время.
