Title of the contribution:
Attitudes of visitors about maintaining the economic
and touristic event “Slaninijada” (bacon fest) in Kacarevo
Keywords:
Type of presentation: Power Point presentation
Theme:
Special Forms of Rural Tourism
Purpose of study:
To develop fresh ideas to create new business opportunities,
diminish regional differences and develop rural
areas using available resources and potentials and by
achieving correlation between agriculture and different
forms of tourism.
Methodology/Approach:
Methodology represents mapping of all potential and
available agricultural households in the mentioned region.
Their selection according to priorities and specific
groups based on the criteria of development and potentials
(followed by the application of certain statistical
methods).
Findings:
Insufficient promotion of rural tourism and households
that perform this type of tourism, tourism product not
being recognized, insufficient financial support of au-
Structured abstract
thorized bodies, lack of training, rural households withdrawing
from rural tourism business, necessity of a more
severe responsibility and role of local government. Rural
households that produce and process food and have
conditions for accommodating tourists could start their
own private business. That is how a rural household
could achieve additional income while all family members
would actively be involved in the activities which
would consequently cause them not want to leave their
own household. Members of rural households would
be taught about the techniques of producing healthy
food.
Originality/Value:
So far, there have not been unique results that tell us
about tourist value and importance of these households
and that can suggest which subtype of rural tourism
they can be classified into.
Research limitations/Implications:
Lack of a sufficient number of data that could be
checked and later implemented into GIS data base. Lack
of a precise records about the number of rural households
that are already involved or could be involved in
rural tourism activities.
Practical implications:
Designing a more complex and more quality tourist
programme for rural areas, formulating clear concept
that needs to be thoroughly developed, determining
target market, creating a data base, formulating roles of
all parties involved in the process organizing different
programmes (summer camps, workshops in nature and
similar).
