Theme:<br />

Creation and distribution of products of the rural Tourism<br />

Purpose of study:<br />

Prove the validity of cultivation, usage and branding<br />

plant Stevia as a potential of the rural tourism products<br />

that could result in greater utilization of land by increasing<br />

profit businesses, but also the consumer satisfaction<br />

(tourists).<br />

Methodology/Approach:<br />

For research purposes, was created questionnaire that<br />

includes questions about demographic characteristics<br />

of consumers, the activity they are involved in, and<br />

awareness with the characteristics of Stevia plants. The<br />

research will be conducted in the city of Osijek and its<br />

surroundings, in a sample of 500 respondents, and will<br />

show the situation on the market 2012th year. The data<br />

will be used standard statistical analysis, using a computer<br />

program for MS Excel spreadsheets.<br />

Findings:<br />

Based on collected data will be analyzed potential economic<br />

entities that are able to produce and / or the use<br />

of Stevia plants in their final products, the potential consumers<br />

of the plant itself and / or products that contain<br />

it. The introduction of this product on the market besides<br />

it would lead to a better utilization of agricultural facilities<br />

in rural areas of Osijek-Baranja County and increase<br />

profits, branding of such products would be of great<br />

importance for rural tourism in this region, through promoting<br />

the benefits of stevia for a healthy lifestyle.<br />

Originality/Value:<br />

This study attempts to cover up in us now only marginally<br />

explored area. Expected scientific contributions<br />

in the exact determination of the current situation and<br />

proposed marketing programs and activities, as preconditions<br />

for development of the rural tourism Osijek-Baranja<br />

county. The obtained data can serve the purpose<br />

of the strategy and marketing of certain measures of<br />

economic policy, by local, regional and national authorities.<br />

Research limitations/Implications:<br />

The main limitations are the lack of research awareness<br />

and familiarity of respondents with plants, manufacturers<br />

of skepticism because of brand new products on<br />

the market, and vaguely defined legal regulations regarding<br />

the use of plants.<br />

Practical implications:<br />

Implementation of Stevia in production program of the<br />

existing food producers who have use the sugar and /<br />

or artificial sweeteners in their products, the production<br />

plants and marketing activities essential for increasing<br />

rural tourism in Osijek-Baranja county.<br />
