Do you know Klaari?
The Klaari Helsinki means the City of Helsinki arranges activities jointly responsible for preventing
young’s substance abuse. The Klaari project enables the adults and adolescents and co-workers of
different fields to operate voluntarily and to assist in order to implement new ideas. The main goal
is to create a safety network for young people that help them to improve their wellbeing and to
decrease their substance abuse. The principles of the operation consist of quality, voluntarily,
partnership, and independence and trust in the future.
Preventive work for substance abuse in the Klaari project
It means that attempts are made to decrease regional risk factors and to increase protective factors in
co-operation with the children, adolescents, families, municipal officers/authorities and other coworkers.
The Klaari operation appreciates the role of parents and invites them to join in planning
and launching the operation. The preventive work concerns all the substances and using habits
including the tobacco. The Klaari project will support the young people for appreciating the non-use
of substances.
The Klaari co-ordination
Will emphasise the knowledge and expertise; it means linking and
mediating the existing knowledge, services, and other resources
accordingly, and launching the operation. The workers of the Klaari
project assist and contribute to this operation together with other coworkers
in order to make possible the preventive work for substance
abuse. The Klaari project will interpret and exploit the strengths
existing already in the community.
