TURKEY HONOURED WITH 17 AWARDS AT ASIASTAR 

Asya bölgesnn en başarılı ambalaj tasarımlarının 

ödüllendrldğ, 10 ülkeden 151 ambalajın yarıştığı 

AsaStar 2022’de Türkye toplam 17 ödül kazandı. 

In AsaStar 2022, where 151 packages from 10 

dfferent countres competed and the best packagng 

desgns n the Asan regon were recognzed, Turkey 

took home a total of 17 trophes. 

6 ödül kazandı. ASD tarafından Avrasya Ambalaj İstanbul Fuarı katkısıyla, 

Reed TÜYAP ş brlğnde düzenlenen 18. Ambalaj Tasarımı Ulusal 

Öğrenc Yarışması’nda dereceye gren genç tasarımcıların katılabldğ 

AsaStar Öğrenc Kategors’nde se Türkye 11 ödüle layık görüldü. 

Yarışmanın sonuçlarını değerlendren ASD Başkanı Zek Sarıbekr, 

“Asya’nın en prestjl yarışmasında ödül kazanan tüm şrketlermz ve 

genç tasarımcılarımızı tebrk edyorum. Her sene olduğu gb bu sene 

de yarışmadan güzel sonuçlarla ayrıldık. 

Sektörümüzün geleceğ tasarımda. Tasarımda farkındalık yaratmak da 

gençlermzn elnde. Bu tarz yarışmalar geleceğmz çn çok öneml. 

Burada elde ettğmz başarılar da sektörümüzün geleceğne ışık tutacak.”

Zeki Saribekir, President of the Association of Packaging 

Manufacturers (ASD), evaluated the competition’s outcomes 

and stated: “As the Turkish packaging industry, we returned with 17 

awards from Asia’s most famous design competition. I appreciate 

our award-winning businesses and promising young designers. The 

Asian Packaging Federation (APF), which annually hosts the AsiaStar 

Competition, also known as the Packaging Oscar of Asia, has released 

its results. Six of the contest’s entries from Turkish enterprises won 

medals, but 11 of the prizes went to young designers who work in the 

nation’s packaging industry. According to ASD President Zeki Saribekir, 

the industry always does well in the competition. 

Asya Ambalaj Federasyonu (APF) tarafından her yıl düzenlenen ve 

Asya’nın Ambalaj Oscar’ı olarak anılan AsaStar Yarışması’nın sonuçları 

açıklandı. Yarışmada Türk şrketler 6 ürünle ödüle layık bulunurken, 

öğrenc kategorsnde se Türkye ambalaj sektörünü temsl eden genç 

tasarımcılar 11 ödül kazandı. ASD Başkanı Zek Sarıbekr, sektör olarak 

her sene olduğu gb bu sene de yarışmada güzel sonuçlar elde ettklern

AsaStar 2022 Yarışması’nda; Türk şrketler, farklı kategorlerde toplam 

FUTURE OF PACKAGING “YOUNG DESIGNERS” 

Turkish businesses took home a total of 6 awards from the AsiaStar 

2022 competition in various categories. Young designers from Turkey 

who placed in the 18th Packaging Design National Student Competition, 

organized by ASD with assistance from the Eurasia Packaging Istanbul 

Fair and in collaboration with Reed TUYAP, were given 11 awards in the 

AsiaStar Student Category. 

Zeki Saribekir, the president of ASD, commented on the tournament’s 

outcomes, saying, “I congratulate all of our enterprises and the young 

designers who took home prizes in Asia’s most prestigious competition. 

We left the competition with good results this year, as we do every 

year. The future of our industry is in design. Our young people have 

the power to spread knowledge about design. Such competitions are 

very important for our future. The achievements we have made here 

will provide insight into the direction of our industry.

Türkye’nn öncü cam ambalaj üretcs GCA’nın, Koç Topluluğu markası olan Pürsu ş brlğyle 

tasarladığı “Pürsu” cam şşes, Asya Ambalaj Federasyonu (APF) tarafından düzenlenen AsaStar 

2022 Yarışması’nda“AsaStar Awards 2022” ödülüne layık görüldü. 

At the AsaStar 2022 Competton run by the Asan Packagng Federaton (APF), the “Pursu” glass 

bottle created by GCA, Turkey’s top glass packagng manufacturer, n collaboraton wth Pursu, a 

Koc Group brand, won the “AsaStar Awards 2022” award. 

Asya Ambalaj Federasyonu (APF) tarafından 

her yıl düzenlenen ve Asya’nın en y ambalajlarının 

serglendğ AsaStar 2022 Yarışması’nın 

sonuçları açıklandı. Onlarca ülkeden yüzlerce 

cam ambalajın rekabet ettğ yarışmaya, novatf 

tasarımlı Pürsu cam şşesyle katılan Türkye’nn 

öncü cam ambalaj üretclernden GCA, “AsaStar 

2022 Ambalaj Ödülü”ne layık görüldü. Pürsu 

frmasının “Eşsz br Su” mottosuna uygun olarak 

gelştrlen tasarım, daha önce 2020 Ambalajın 

Ay Yıldızları ve 2021 Worldstar Wnner ödüllerne 

de layık görülmüştü. 

10’dan Fazla Ödülle Sektöründe Fark Yarattı 

Gürok Grubu bünyesnde 2015 yılından bu yana 

faalyetlerne devam eden GCA, günümüzün 

modern ve özgün mmar yapılarından br olan 

Duba Infnty Tower’ın esn kaynağı olduğu Ma 

Duba tasarımıyla 2019 Red Dot Desgn Award 

Wnner ve 2020 Slver A’ Desgn Award Wnner 

ödüllernn de sahb olmuştu. Farklı tasarımlarıyla

The Asian Packaging Federation (APF), 

which annually hosts the AsiaStar 2022 

Competition and hosts an exhibition of the region’s 

best packaging, has revealed the competition’s 

winners. GCA, one of Turkey’s leading glass 

packaging manufacturers, was awarded the “Asia- 

Star 2022 Packaging Award” with its innovative 

designed Pursu glass bottle in the competition 

where hundreds of glass packaging from tens 

of countries competed. The design, created in 

keeping with Pursu’s tagline “A Unique Water,” 

has already won two awards: the 2021 Worldstar 

Winner and the 2020 Moon Stars of Packaging. 

Made a Difference in the Sector with More 

Than 10 Awards 

The Mai Dubai design by GCA, which has been 

working under the Gurok Group since 2015, 

was the winner of the 2019 Red Dot Design 

Award and the 2020 Silver A’ Design Award. It 

was inspired by the Dubai Infinity Tower, one of 

the contemporary world’s most cutting-edge 

and distinctive architectural projects. GCA, 

which has so far won more than 10 prizes for 

its various designs, keeps elevating its standing

Türkye’de plastk ambalaj sektöründe kalte ve stkrar

gerçekleştrlen küresel ambalaj sektörünün en prestjl fuarlarından 

br Interpack 2023’te ambalaj sektörüne yönelk

Ilka Plastic, one of the leading manufacturers 

focused on quality and stability in the plastic 

packaging industry in Turkiye, introduced its high-quality 

and high-performance products for the packaging industry 

at Interpack 2023, one of the most prestigious fairs of the 

global packaging industry, held in Düsseldorf. At the fair 

held in Dusseldorf, Germany, which is considered as one 

of the most important fairs of the sector it became the 

center of attention with its nature-friendly and high-tech 

‘İlka Hood’ product with the motto of “Flexible Solutions”. 

Interpack fair, which is held every three years as the 

meeting point of the plastics and packaging industry, 

with 170,899 visitors from 169 countries, showed a 

course 20% above its current capacity in 19 halls and 

an area of 262.000 square meters, with the highest 

participation demand ever. 

In Interpack, which focuses on packaging materials, 

packaging machines, related process technologies for 

the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and 

industrial products sectors, as well as digital technologies

nation,” stated Fatih Varlik, the 21st and 22nd Chairman

fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, as a weak fair, a different picture 

manifested itself in our eyes. 

The expectations were set excessively high because the fair had been 

delayed by six years, to 2023, because of the pandemic. Despite the

yürünecek daha çok yolumuz olduğunu da görmüş olduk. Rehavete 

kapılmadan, kalte ve hzmet anlayışımızdan ödün vermeden, her gün 

braz daha üstüne koyarak kendmz gelştreceğmz bu yolda emn 

adımlarla devam edyoruz. Şu anda nasıl daha y br noktaya gelebleceğmz 

düşünmek çn harekete geçyoruz. Bu süreçte yapılması 

gerekenler belrlemeye ve uygulamaya devam edeceğz. 

Türk frmalarının yoğun katılım sağladığı fuarın, tüm Türk frmaları çn 

olumlu geçtğn gözlemledk. Bu da bz ayrıca mutlu ett. Avrupa'nın 

en büyük ambalaj fuarında yer almanın keyfn çıkardık ve ülkemz 

başarıyla temsl etmeye devam edeceğz. Bu başarılı Interpack fuarı 

deneymyle brlkte, şrket olarak yen br döneme adım atmaya hazırız.

were quite fruitful. At the point of export, we think this fair 

will be very beneficial for both our nation and our business. We were 

overjoyed by the comments and good responses we got from wellknown 

businesses. Over the years, we have seen that our business has 

risen to a higher league in the industry and that we have developed a 

reputation as a reputable and, more importantly, a trustworthy business. 

We learned from this excellent experience that, despite our heightened 

motivation, we still have a long way to go. We keep moving forward 

firmly along this route, striving to get a little bit better every day 

without compromising our understanding of quality and service or 

becoming complacent. We are currently mobilizing to consider improvements.

You manufacture everything, including software, motors, and automation for the machines you 

manufacture. In this regard, do you have any new product groups that you have introduced to 

the sector this year? 

Our perception of our CRX series cobot models for the expanding collaborative robot market has 

changed significantly in recent years. Recently, we announced our new models CRX-5iA, CRX- 

20iA/L and CRX-25iA in our CRX series. In our other product areas, constant processes of renewal 

and development are present. We offer our customers the -C400c model with 400 x 300 mm X-Y 

axis movement and the a-C600c model with 600 x 400 mm X-Y axis movement capacity in the 

CiC series, which is the most recent series of our wire erosion machine ROBOCUT. These models 

are designed for high precision cutting of complex cuts in a variety of industries, including aerospace, 

automotive, and mold manufacturing. 

Our vertical machining center ROBODRILL, a different product category, continues to be developed 

continuously, as with all of our products. The FANUC ROBODRILL -DiBADV Plus series, which widens 

the machining area and shortens cycle time while providing optimum machining performance 

and flexibility, is a high-speed and effective compact machining center used in manufacturing. 

You introduced a new series for the plastics industry. Can you tell our readers about the technical 

features, advantages and differences of your new FANUC ROBOSHOT -SiB series injection 

moulding machines? 

We have been effectively working in the plastic injection moulding sector for more than 40 years, 

and we now produce 78 thousand ROBOSHOT’s globally. Due to the CNC control system, our various

What are your opinions about Industry 4.0? Are your products sufficient 

for Industry 4.0 applications? 

The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the key components of Industry 

4.0 since it allows automation systems to show massive volumes of data 

interchange in real time and enhance operations through self-optimization. 

The extensive real-time data collected can also improve quality 

control to the desired level by identifying defects more quickly. 

FANUC is helping manufacturers to build connectivity throughout the 

whole process chain with the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) concept 

FIELD, enabling thorough data analysis of various generations of 

production machines from all manufacturers in a facility. In this way, by 

controlling costly downtimes, we minimize extremely high costs and increase 

productivity and customer satisfaction. 

In the second half of 2023, you are planning to move to a new building 

in Sancaktepe and establish a technology center. Can you tell us 

a little bit about your new building and the details? 

We laid the foundation of the new technology center we have been 

working on for some time in Sancaktepe. Currently, construction works 

are continuing. We intend to open our new technological center by the 

end of this year and will implement it with a total investment of TL 300

the name of a new initiative you’ve started. Can you tell our readers 

about the project? 

There is no doubt that automation, which has gained a good momentum 

in Turkey, especially with the pandemic, and the investments made 

in this direction, further increase our confidence in this market, where 

we are involved as FANUC. In this regard, we earlier this year began 

the “FANUC is Here for the Domestic Machine Builder” project, which 

will support local manufacturing. With this project, as one of the leading 

and pioneering companies in the CNC industry, we have the opportunity 

to work closely with machine manufacturers operating in many different 

fields. Within the framework of the project we have created, we 

seek to raise the technological bar of the machines produced, boost the 

production of CNC machines in Turkey, increase the number of players 

engaged in this market, and bring value to our nation’s economy. 

There is of course not only one purpose of our project. On the other 

hand, with our project, we aim to raise awareness in each of our stakeholders. 

In fact, our project has a very broad perspective. As a result, we 

have a number of goals that support each of our aims. 

We were quite enthusiastic when we began the project, but as soon 

as we began to consider “How can we support the Turkish industry?” 

we discovered hundreds of duties. Our first priority here was 

to transfer our knowledge and experience in the CNC sector to the 

industry of our country.

As FANUC, you have been serving in Turkey for many 

years. Robotization has an increasing demand in the world. 

How do you evaluate this situation for developing countries like us? 

Robotization, which is widespread and at an advanced level, is truly 

a catalyst, particularly for nations like Turkey who aspire to make a 

breakthrough in this area. Turkish businesses now have a better understanding 

of the advantages of robotic automation systems in terms 

of production, work efficiency, and profitability, enabling them to make 

investments in this area. As a matter of fact, the impact of the pandemic 

all over the world also allowed the demand for robotization to increase 

faster and the process to take place faster than expected. 

What would you like to say about sustainability efforts? What are 

FANUC’s efforts for sustainability? 

At FANUC, we operate all of our business processes with consideration 

for the environment as it is ingrained in our DNA. Working in harmony 

with nature is also an important part of our philosophy. As part of our 

ongoing history, we give sustainability and environmental protection 

a high priority while creating our automation solutions. Whether robot, 

ROBOMACHINE or other factory automation solution, our products are 

manufactured with respect for the environment. Additionally, we work to 

reduce energy use and waste, promote recycling, and continually enhance 

our chemical control methods in order to make our production 

operations as sustainable and ecologically friendly as possible. 

To help our staff completely understand and reduce our environmental 

impact, we also provide job-specific environmental training in their respective 

areas of responsibility.

How was the 2022 for you? What are your goals for 

2023? 

As FANUC Turkey, we spent 2022 as we anticipated and increased 

our turnover by 26%. With the right strategies, we continue to experience 

stable growth in every industry we work in and hold the 

sector’s top position. We intend to grow by 20% on average in each 

of the automotive, machinery, and food sectors this year, which we 

expect will be more active in terms of business volume.

The food and beverage sector is currently 

facing intense cost pressure. At the same time, 

the sector is also plagued by a lack of competent labor. 

Stäubli displayed customized robotic equipment for 

primary and secondary packaging as well as potential 

answers to all of these problems at Interpack 2023 

(Hall 15, Stand C37). 

HE Series Robots for Maximum Germ-Proof Production 

Stäubli demonstrated how its robots meet these standards 

at Interpack 2023 using the HE series. HE stands for 

“humid environment”. This article covers a description 

of wash-down cleaning operations and customized 

robots made for use when exposed to liquids. 

When connected to a positive pressure system, all robots 

in the HE series are completely enclosed and meet IP67 

protection standards. Wrist part is waterproof. Another 

beneficial feature is the hose and cable system that runs 

through the robot arm from the base and protects it from 

outside elements like water and other substances. The 

good news is that HE designs are now available for all 

Stäubli robot types. This includes the SCARA robots 

from the TS2 series, which are perfect for packaging 

operations because to their remarkable dynamic 

performance. They maintain maximum accuracy while 

operating at a consistently high performance level, and 

their small size rivals even delta kinematics.

What are your current product groups? Can you provide us some 

background on it? 

Injection molding machines, hydraulic models up to 500 tonnes (S 

and C GOLDEN EDITION), electric hybrid models up to 650 tonnes 

(HIDRIVE), all-electric models up to 500 tonnes (ALLDRIVE, GOLD- 

EN ELECTRIC), multi-component models (MORE), vertical machines 

(V and T models), and special model CUBE are our main products. 

Our own MULTILIFT robots and the THERMOLIFT drying loader are 

examples of our by-products. Our FREEFORMER product is also 

available in the field of additive manufacturing. 

Today, after-sales service is very important. You have approximately 

100 authorized pre- and post-sales services worldwide. 

Can you tell us about your pre-sales and after-sales service network? 

Our pre-sales engineers create machine determination and sales 

contracts with customer contact. Our post-sale service technicians 

assist with machine installation and maintenance. Spare parts service 

is also provided from our warehouse. 

Can you tell us where ARBURG stands and what it does on the 

global market? What is ARBURG's position in the Turkish market? 

What would you say if you compared it to markets in other

How do you think Turkey's position in the plastics industry can 

be raised? What are the possible studies in this area, in your 

opinion? 

In the global plastics industry, Turkey has generally advanced to a 

significant level; however, the added value of the products produced 

is relatively low; research for value-added products should be conducted; 

and exports should be enhanced. 

For 2023, what do you think about the fair activities? Which fairs 

do you prefer to participate? 

We take part in important fairs in the sector, as ARBURG. We want to 

attend the FAKUMA trade shows in Germany and the Plast Eurasia 

shows in Turkey this year. On the topic of 3D printers, our product 

Freeformer is on display at the FORMNEXT trade show. 

We know that you attach importance to "sustainability" as AR- 

BURG. Could you share with our readers the work you have done 

in this regard? 

On its website, ARBURG provides information on its sustainability 

efforts, and the most recent sustainability report is a goldmine 

of knowledge. We reaffirm our dedication to this issue through our 

tools and solutions. 

How was the 2022 for you? What are your goals for 2023? 

Sales exceeded our expectations in 2022, which was a highly busy 

year in comparison to prior years. We anticipate 2023 to be even 

better.Due to the significance of this year, which marks the 100th 

anniversaries of both Turkey and the ARBURG family business, I anticipate 

that by adding our 100th anniversary machine to the product 

line, we will surpass our goals. 

What would you like to say in closing to our readers? 

By taking part in our launch, seminar, and trade fair activities, where 

the 100th Anniversary machine we'll introduce in this significant year 

will also garner attention, we hope to connect with ARBURG customers 

as well as businesses who haven't had the chance to work with 

ARBURG machines before. 

In the initiatives we'll develop together, we hope to find common 

ground and offer acceptable solutions. In particular, we want them 

to see the equipment that will help ensure the required precision and 

order during exportation.

OMRON has launched a new palletizing solution for collaborative robots, responding 

to the need for more flexible production processes whilst reducing programming time. 

The PLC-based cobot palletizing solution is created on OMRON’s NX1 series modular machine 

controller that is equipped with a specialized Palletizing Function Block. The key functionalities 

of the solution, built on OMRON’s NX machine controller with a unique function block, include 

quick pallet pattern definition, easy step-by-step setup and calibration by teaching, as well as a 

comprehensive production dashboard. The flexibility of the solution enables easy expansion and 

integration of additional functionality. The NX machine controller communicates directly with the 

cobot controller, and seamlessly handles the various input and output devices and tools needed 

for a palletizing solution, such as a gripper, pillar, conveyor belt, safety components, sensors, and 

servo motors. This enables the complete sequencing to be performed from the PLC. The solution 

can be connected to a human machine interface for operation.

problems have been getting even more worse which has already 

been complicated with the pressing problems such as climate change, 

rising population, lost biological diversity, drought and floods. Consumption 

society, particularly driven by the rising human population, is further 

accelerating the unstoppable rise of the waste mountains. This is exactly 

where ecological solutions, sustainable approaches and innovative technologies 

step in. Designed to reduce waste, a threat to the ecological system, 

edible packaging is increasingly taking up larger space in the shelves. 

Pointing out the importance of packaging, used to prolong the shelf life of 

foods, that can also be consumed together with the food, Founder and 

Creative Director of B12 Creative Branding, Mr. Burkan Ciftciguzeli noted 

this packaging, called also biodegradable packaging, will be an effective 

alternative to the plastics. In a world where sustainable approaches are 

becoming increasingly important, edible and biodegradable packaging 

materials offer an ecological option for consumers. “Every year 8 million 

ton of new plastics are polluting our oceans, where the food packaging is 

one of the main culprits” said Mr. Burkan Ciftciguzeli Founder and Creative

Edible packaging protects earth by self-degradation 

“The packaging created with healthy bio ingredients such as corn, moss, 

potatoes, starch can be eaten” Mr. Ciftciguzeli points out, “Moreover 

these materials are biodegradable, so not polluting but protecting the 

earth. It is important to note that consumers prefer edible packaging, not 

only because they see an added value for themselves, but also they being 

environment-friendly, containing natural ingredients and consumable 

together with the food. A moss-based packaging, developed by an Indonesian 

producer, is not only taste-neutral and odor-free but also contains 

ample amount of vitamin and mineral. And if we do want to them, we can 

bio-decompose them, dissolving in mild water, to use as a natural fertilizer 

for the plants.”

“As a different direction also for packaging designs, edible packaging will 

reinforce the “nature-friendly” perception of a brand”, Burkan Ciftciguzeli 

says, concluding: “A rice-made wrapping paper developed for a world 

famous fast food chain can be consumed together with the hamburger, 

and, on the other hand, you can safely consume the cup of a coffee brand 

while enjoying your coffee. Widespread use of the edible packaging may 

bring the end for the single-use plastics, and be an excellent step to protect 

the earth.”

of the winning students will be held during the Eurasia Packaging 

2023 Istanbul - 28th International Packaging Industry Fair, which will 

be organized between October 11-14, 2023, in collaboration with ASD 

and Reed TUYAP.

Yarışmaya katılım şartları se şöyle: “Yarışma, ünverstelern güzel sanatlar 

ve mmarlık fakültelernn grafk ve grafk tasarım, endüstr ürünler 

tasarımı veya endüstryel tasarım bölümler ve bu bölümlere eşdeğer 

lsans veya yüksek lsans düzeynde eğtm gören tüm öğrenclern 

katılımına açık. 

Dğer bölümlerde okuyan öğrencler se yarışmaya breysel olarak katılamıyor. 

Ancak, grafk ve grafk tasarım le endüstr ürünler tasarımı 

veya endüstryel tasarım bölümlernde eğtm gören öğrenclerle brlkte 

grup oluşturarak katılablyor. Br öğrenc yarışmaya en fazla üç defa 

başvurablyor.”

Endüstryel tasarımın desteklenmes amacıyla dereceye gren öğrenclere 

‘ASD & TÜYAP Öğrenm Bursu’ smyle yılda 12 ay burs sağlanırken, 

bu yıl da dereceye gren öğrenclere ‘ASD & TÜYAP Öğrenm 

Bursu’ verlecek. Ayrıca yarışmada lk üç dereceye gren ve mansyon 

ödülü kazanan projelere çeştl ödüller dağıtılacak.

knc 8 bn TL, 

üçüncü 6 bn TL kazanacak. 

Verlecek 3 mansyon ödülü çn de katılımcılara 3’er 

bn TL verlecek. 

Who Can Apply? 

The eligibility criteria for participation in the competition are as follows: 

“The competition is open to all students studying in the graphic 

design, industrial product design, or industrial design departments 

of fine arts and architecture faculties of universities, as well as those 

who are studying at the undergraduate or graduate level equivalent to 

these departments. Students studying in other departments can not 

participate in the competition individually, but they can participate by 

forming a group with students studying in the graphic design, industrial 

product design, or industrial design departments. A student can apply 

to the competition a maximum of three times.” 

Scholarship Opportunity For The Winners 

To support industrial design, students who are placed in the top rankings 

will be provided with a scholarship for 12 months under the name 

‘ASD & TUYAP Scholarship’. This year, students who are placed in the 

top rankings will also receive the ‘ASD & TUYAP Scholarship’. Additionally, 

various awards will be distributed to the first three ranking projects 

and honorable mention award-winning projects. 

The first prize winner will receive 12,000 TL, 

the second prize winner will receive 8,000 TL, 

and the third prize winner will receive 6,000 TL. 

Participants will also receive 3,000 TL each for the 

three honorable mention awards.

The most significant exhibition of the packaging industry in the 

world, Interpack 2023 Fair was organized on May 4-10, 2023 in 

Dusseldorf, Germany. A total of 293 Turkish companies including 47 companies 

that exhibited in the scope of the second national participation organization 

conducted by Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters 

Association (IKMIB) after 6 years cast their mark on the event. IKMIB Chairman 

of the Board of Directors Adil Pelister said Turkish packaging industry has 

a foreign trade surplus and its exports in the last 5 years increased by over 

50 percent. The most important international exhibition of the packaging 

industry and its sub-industry organized triennially and was not organized 

in 2020 due to the pandemic, Interpack 2023 was organized this year on 

May 4-10, 2023 in Germany after a six-year interval. The exhibition where 

prominent companies of the packaging sector exhibited, a total of 293 companies 

exhibited from Turkiye including 47 companies that exhibited in the 

scope of the national participation organization of IKMIB and 246 individual 

companies while the exhibition hosted more than 2 thousand 700 visitors.

Robotic Technologies Enhance Productivity and Profitability In 

Production 

Murat Yaris noted that when we transition from labor-intensive systems 

to technology-intensive systems, production will rise and costs will fall. 

He added, “They will come to the forefront when they are more competitive 

among enterprises performing similar work. The concept of the 

human worker is replaced by the concept of the robot worker thanks to 

robotic automation technologies. In batch manufacturing, robots handle 

the majority of the tasks that would otherwise require human labor, 

significantly preventing downtime and mistakes brought on by human 

demands. With the exception of intentional interruptions, its employees 

labor nonstop for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, despite the hefty 

original investment cost. The extent of the economies of scale is one of 

the aspects that affect cost today. As scale and speed increase, costs 

decrease. This cost reduction increases profitability levels and creates 

resources for more R&D.”

Uluslararası Robot Federasyonu verilerine göre 2015 yılında dünya 

genelinde imalat sanayinde her 10 bin çalışan başına 66 robot 

düşerken, bu rakam 2020’de iki katına yükselerek 126 oldu.

The METPACK Fair was recently conducted, and Sude Publishing 

attended with our PACKWORLD Turkey magazine and 

had a wonderful event. The METPACK trade fair is organised every 3 

years in Essen. It is a one-of-a-kind event that provides affordable solutions 

for the manufacturing, enhancing, recycling, and painting of metal 

packaging and is acknowledged globally as one of the top exhibits for 

the packaging industry. Additionally, METPACK is renowned as a significant 

trade show where numerous significant businesses involved in the 

global tin can and metal packaging industries congregate. This year’s 

exhibition showcased the latest technologies, products and services in 

the sector. We got the opportunity to closely monitor the most recent 

advancements in the metal packaging industry during the exhibition. 

With our magazine, Sude Publishing sought to support the industry at 

the trade show where top businesses from around the globe displayed 

their newest goods and innovations. We gave guests to the fair a copy 

of our Sude Publishing publication, PACKWORLD Turkey. We are delighted 

to see that our magazine has an important place in the sector 

and it has been welcomed with interest by sector professionals. With 

our periodicals and products, Sude Publishing will keep assisting businesses 

in the packaging industry. We at PACKWORLD Turkey are happy 

to be a part of the METPACK Fair, a pioneer in the packaging sector, and

Who doesn’t enjoy the warming warmth of the sun on their 

skin as summer approaches? Sunburn is the result of excessive 

sun exposure, but too much of anything is bad. Sunburn is one of 

the problems that many people suffer from. 

So, what is sunburn? How does it heal? 

When the skin is overexposed to UV light from the sun, sunburn results. 

It is characterized by a severe sunburn in the area that has been overexposed. 

Children and those with light skin tones are at risk. Large-scale 

sunburns can be potentially fatal since they have systemic effects. As 

a result, when outdoors in the sunlight, you should use protective gear 

such hats and sunglasses as well as sun cream. In contrast to severe 

burns, which result in skin blisters and may leave scars, moderate sunburns 

only have minor side effects like skin redness. Sunburn can also 

result from an artificial light source, like a solarium, in addition to the sun. 

What are Sunburn Symptoms? 

The most typical symptom of sunburn is redness of the skin. There may 

also be swelling and itching. In severe burns, this condition may be accompanied 

by blisters. You should see a doctor if you experience extreme 

discomfort or blisters. If you experience the following symptoms, 

we recommend that you consult a doctor.

• Su dolu kabarcıklar oluştuysa, bu kabarcıkları patlamanız, enfeksyon 

rskn arttırır. Bu nedenle kend kendsne geçmesn beklemelsnz. 

• Yanık olan bölgeler, tekrardan güneşe maruz kalmamalıdır. 

Güneş Yanığı Ne Zaman Geçer? 

Haff güneş yanıkları 3-5 gün çersnde yleşr. İlk brkaç gün ağrılı olan 

güneş yanığı clt kendn yenledkçe azalır. Orta şddetl yanıkların se yleşmes 

1 hafta kadar sürer. Şddetl yanıkların tamamen yleşmes se 

daha uzun sürmektedr. Tamamen yleşmeyecek güneş yanıkları çn, 

doktora gtmenz tavsye ederz.

• You should obviously see a doctor if young children or infants 

get sunburned. 

What is good for sunburn? 

• When you are exposed to sunburn, you should first try to cool the skin. 

Cooling your skin relieves pain and also prevents inflammation. Ice cubes 

and other extremely cold materials should never be used for treatment. 

It will be sufficient to use sterile cloths soaked in cold water. Showering 

with cool water will be relaxing. 

• We advise you to drink enough of fluids because your body will be dehydrated 

and tense. 

• Scratching itchy areas causes wounds to heal late. Therefore, try not to 

scratch as much as possible. 

• It is usually recommended to apply yoghurt to the skin in home treatment. 

Applying yoghurt can reduce the pain, but has no effect on reducing 

inflammation of the skin. Additionally, we advise against rubbing yoghurt 

on the skin because the bacteria in it have the potential to cause 

infections. You should definitely avoid applying toothpaste, which is another 

popular method. 

• Aloevera and chamomile products’ anti-inflammatory qualities might 

shorten the healing process. To ensure your safety, it is crucial to ascertain 

your allergy to a product before applying it to your skin. Your recuperation 

will go more quickly if you apply alcohol-free moisturizing gels 

and lotions to the burned regions. 

• Bursting water-filled blisters increases the risk of infection if they have 

already formed. You should therefore wait for it to pass by itself. 

• Burned areas should not be exposed to the sun again. 

When does sunburn heal? 

Mild sunburns heal within 3-5 days. Sunburn, which is painful for the first 

few days, decreases as the skin renews itself. Moderately severe burns 

take up to 1 week to heal. Severe burns take longer to heal completely. 

We advise that you visit a doctor if your sunburn does not recover fully.
