Epilepsy can be treated!
Epilepsi tedavi edilebiliyor!
In the disease known as epilepsy, colloquially
“epiphany”, seizures occur as a result of temporary
abnormal electrical activity in the brain cells. Medline
physician Dr. Ferit Şeyhzade informs about the
subject and conveys what needs attention.
Stating that there are more than 700 thousand epilepsy
patients in our country, Dr. Ferit Şeyhzade said, “If the
person experiences consciousness, emotion, behavior,
movement disorders or distractions frequently enough
to be noticed by someone else, these symptoms may
be a harbinger of epilepsy.” Stating that not every
person who has epileptic seizures has epilepsy, Dr.
“Epilepsy is diagnosed if the seizures recur in time, with
certain characteristics for each patient, sometimes
spontaneously and sometimes due to triggering factors.”
“Epilepsy is the most common neurological disease
in childhood and adolescence, and the most common
neurological disease in adulthood after stroke. This
disease, which is seen with equal frequency in men and
women, is seen in all age groups, but it is mostly seen in
the young and old groups.
This disease, which requires long-term treatment and
follow-up, significantly affects the quality of life. With
the right treatment, seizures are controlled in most of
the patients and the patient continues his/her normal
life. For this reason, it is very important to control
seizures. However, epilepsy surgery, which is a more
advanced treatment method, is considered for patients
with epilepsy who are resistant to drug therapy and who
cannot tolerate antiepileptic drug therapy due to its side
effects.”
Epilepsi, yani halk arasında “sara” olarak bilinen
hastalıkta nöbetler, beyin hücrelerinde geçici anormal
elektrik aktivitesi sonucu ortaya çıkar. Medline
