Continuing its claim on quality production and continuing to produce with an understanding of sustainability, Aksan Kozmetik will expand the private label market in 2023. We interviewed Servet Gerz, COO & Vice Chairman of the Board at Aksan Kozmetik A.Ş. about the FAQs and the company. Could you shortly inform us about the innovative origin story of Aksan Kozmetik, one of the innovative and leading companies in the sector? “Aksan Kozmetik was established in 2008 in Istanbul. We started production with a staff of 40 people in a total area of 2000 square meters. At that time, we had an annual production capacity of 20 million packs of wet wipes. Today, we produce 100 thousand tons of liquid, 220 million packs of wet wipes, 15 million boxes of ear buds and 50 million pet bottles per year at Sedex, ISO, GMP, BRC and IFS quality standards in our 30 thousand square meter integrated production facility located in Hadımköy, Istanbul. We are one of the companies with the highest liquid filling capacity in Türkiye. We also manufacture complementary products such as ear buds, plastic caps, pet bottles, cotton wicks in our integrated Kaliteli üretim konusunda iddiasını sürdüren ve sürdürülebilirlik anlayışı ile üretim yapmaya devam eden Aksan Kozmetik, 2023’te private label pazarını büyütecek. İnovatif ve sektörün öncü firmalarından biri olan Aksan Kozmetik’in yenilik dolu hikayesini merak edenler için sizi ve firmanızı daha yakından tanıyabilir miyiz? “Aksan Kozmetik 2008 yılında İstanbul’da kuruldu. Toplam 2000 metrekarelik bir alanda 40 kişilik bir kadro ile üretime başladık, o dönemde yıllık 20 milyon paket ıslak mendil üretimi kapasitesine sahiptik. Bugün İstanbul Hadımköy’de bulunan 30 bin metrekarelik entegre üretim tesisimizde Sedex, ISO, GMP, BRC ve IFS kalite standartlarında yılda 100 bin ton sıvı üretim, 220 milyon paket ıslak mendil, 15 milyon kutu kulak çubuğu ve 50 milyon pet şişe üretimi yapıyoruz. Türkiye’de sıvı dolum kapasitesi en yüksek firmalardan biriyiz. Ayrıca entegre tesisimizde kulak çubuğu, plastik kapak, pet şişe, fitil pamuk gibi tamamlayıcı ürünler de üretiyoruz. We meet our own plastic packaging needs with PET packaging and PP injection production lines, and at the same time, we supply to many brands both in Türkiye and around the world. We are taking firm steps towards becoming a leader in the sector by developing products that are high quality, innovative and in line with the needs of the consumer, which we started with wet wipes.” You have many brands that stand out in the domestic and international market. What about your brands and product range in general? “We produce personal care, baby care, home care and cosmetic products with our DeepFresh, Savon De Royal, UltraFresh, Bebe Royal, L’Unique and Savon De Luxe brands in the domestic market. In addition to these brands, we produce in the same product categories with Comfort Love and Happy Kinder in the foreign market.” “WE CONTINUE OUR CLAIM ABOUT QUALITY PRODUCTION” As Aksan Kozmetik, you use approximately 40 percent of your production capacity to produce “Private Label” products. Can we hear more about this from you? “Aksan Kozmetik, which is in an international power position by exporting personal care products to 100 countries around the world, has doubled its capacity in the last year, and today it is 100 thousand tons in general and personal care products, 60 million in pet bottle production, 120 million in PP cap production, reached the level of 20 million boxes in the production of ear sticks. Aksan Kozmetik uses 40 percent of its production capacity for private label production for both domestic and foreign brands. Globally, there has been approximately 7% turnover growth in the FMCG sector of private label products every year. He said that 30% of the FMSG market of the total market in Türkiye consists of private label products and that the markets’ own brands constitute the largest share in the market. In today’s economic conjuncture, consumers tend to prefer private label products, as they are more affordable. We believe that this trend will increase in 2023 and therefore the private label market will grow. In this direction, as Aksan Kozmetik, we aim to increase our existing private label share in the country by 50%, both in the domestic market and on an export basis. We will continue to maintain our claim on quality production and to produce with an understanding of sustainability.” THE FIRST BRAND TO MANUFACTURE DEOWIPES IN TURKIYE Your product called “Deo Wipes” brought a different perspective to deodorant. Could you give us the detail of the product? Why people choose this product? “Thanks to the situation we encountered at a fair in Dubai a few years ago, we achieved the success of being the first brand to produce DeoWipes in Türkiye with an investment of 500 thousand dollars, starting from the idea of combining kendi plastik ambalaj ihtiyacımızı karşılıyoruz ve aynı zamanda hem Türkiye’de hem dünyada birçok markaya tedarik ediyoruz. Islak mendil ile başladığımız yolculuğumuza, kaliteli, yenilikçi ve tüketicinin ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda ürünler geliştirerek sektörde lider olma yolunda sağlam adımlarla ilerliyoruz.” İç ve dış pazarda öne çıkan birçok markanız var. Genel olarak markalarınızdan ve ürün gamınızdan bahseder misiniz? “İç pazarda DeepFresh, Savon De Royal, UltraFresh, Bebe Royal, L’Unique ve Savon De Luxe markalarımız ile kişisel bakım, bebek bakımı, ev bakım ve kozmetik ürünleri üretimini gerçekleştiriyoruz. Bu markalarımıza ilave olarak dış pazarda Comfort Love ve Happy Kinder ile yine aynı ürün kategorilerinde üretim yapıyoruz.” “KALİTELİ ÜRETİM KONUSUNDA İDDİAMIZI SÜRDÜRÜYORUZ” Aksan Kozmetik olarak üretim kapasitenizin yaklaşık yüzde 40’ını “Private Label” ürün üretmek için kullanıyorsunuz. Sizden bu konuyu daha detaylı dinleyebilir miyiz? “Dünya çapında 100 ülkeye kişisel bakım ürünü ihraç ederek uluslararası bir güç konumunda bulunan Aksan Kozmetik, son bir yılda kapasitesini iki katına çıkararak günümüzde genel ve kişisel bakım ürünlerinde yıllık 100 bin ton, pet şişe üretiminde 60 milyon adet, PP kapak üretiminde 120 milyon adet, kulak çubuğu üretiminde 20 milyon kutu seviyesine ulaştı. Aksan Kozmetik, sahip olduğu üretim kapasitesinin yüzde 40’ını hem yurt içi hem de yurt dışı markalara private label (özel marka) üretim için kullanıyor. Globalde her yıl private label ürünlerin FMCG sektöründe yaklaşık %7 oranda ciro büyümesi gerçekleşti. Türkiye’deki toplam pazarın FMSG pazarının %30’unun private label ürünlerden oluştuğunu ve pazardaki en fazla payı marketlerin kendi markalarının oluşturduğunu söyledi. Günümüz ekonomi konjonktüründe tüketiciler, daha uygun fiyatlı olması dolayısıyla ağırlıklı olarak private label ürünlere yöneliyor. 2023 yılında bu eğilimin artacağına, dolayısıyla private label pazarının büyüyeceğine inanıyoruz. Bu doğrultuda Aksan Kozmetik olarak hem iç pazarda hem de ihracat bazında mevcut private label payımızı yurt içinde %50 artırmayı hedefliyoruz. Kaliteli üretim konusunda iddiamızı sürdürmeye ve de sürdürülebilirlik anlayışı ile üretim yapmaya devam edeceğiz.” DEOWIPES’I TÜRKİYE’DE İLK KEZ ÜRETEN MARKA “Deo Wipes” adlı ürününüz deodoranta farklı bir bakış açısı getirdi. Sizce, insanlar neden bu ürünü tercih etmeli? “Birkaç yıl önce Dubai’deki bir fuarda karşılaştığımız durum sayesinde deodorant ve ıslak mendili bir araya getirme fikrinden yola çıkarak 500 bin dolar yatırımla DeoWipes’ı Türkiye’de ilk kez üreten marka olma başarısına eriştik. İçinde herhangi bir itici gaz bulunmayan, ozon tabakasıyla dost olan ve vegan sertifikalı deodorant ıslak mendil DeoWipes, hoş kokusu ile gün boyu tazelik sağlıyor.
