Sonuç Fiziksel aktivite/egzersizin yukar›da sadece bir k›sm›na k›saca de¤indi¤imiz say›s›z yarar› oldu¤unun bilimsel çevrelerce bilinmesine ve kabul edilmesine karfl›n bu konudaki kamu fark›ndal›¤›n›n ayn› düzeyde oldu¤unu söylemek çok güçtür. Öyle ki, ekonomik ve sosyal göstergeleri çok iyi durumda olan bir çok ülkenin bile bu konuda beklenen geliflmeye ulaflamad›klar› gösterilmifltir. Örne¤in Amerikan Kalp Birli¤i (AHA) verilerine göre sadece ABD’de y›lda yaklafl›k olarak 250 000 kifli düzenli fiziksel aktivite eksikli¤ine ba¤l› olarak ölmektedir. Günümüz sa¤l›k politikalar›nda koruyucu sa¤l›k hizmetleri ön plandad›r ve koruyucu sa¤l›k hizmetlerinde fiziksel aktivitenin önemli bir yeri vard›r. Bu Kronik Hastal›klarda Fiziksel Aktivite • Cilt 8 • Say› 1 • Ocak - Haziran 2011 • Sayfa 28 ba¤lamda fiziksel aktiviteleri gelifltirici ve destekleyici programlar oluflturulmaktad›r. Bu tür programlar›n maliyet etkinli¤i ile ilgili yap›lan araflt›rmalarda Avustralya’da 600 milyon $, Yeni Zellanda’da 160 milyon $ ekonomik yarar sa¤lad›¤› görülmüfltür (1) . Toplumda kronik hastal›¤a sahip bireyler, düzenli egzersizin önemi vurgulanarak egzersiz yapmadan önce nelere dikkat edece¤i, hangi düzende, nas›l yapaca¤› ve mutlaka bir doktor kontrolünden sonra egzersiz program›na bafllamas› gerekti¤i, klinikte yada toplum sa¤l›¤› alan›nda çal›flan hemflireler taraf›ndan bilgilendirilmelidir. Fiziksel aktivite/egzersizin toplum taraf›ndan kabul edilebilirli¤ini sa¤lamak için ulusal kampanyalar egzersiz yapma düzeyini yükseltebilir ve hemflireler fiziksel aktivite/egzersiz programlar›na halk› yönlendirmede son derece etkili olabilir.
