İslam Medeniyeti ve Fuat Sezgin Projesi
logic refers to the laws of the thought of all humanity.
Those who do not know grammar cannot
speak correctly, and those who do not know logic
cannot always think correctly. According to Farabi,
religion is one of the essential foundations for
the society to reach happiness. Religion, a social
phenomenon, aims to achieve a certain purpose
by directing the society to a certain life.

Our world-wide known science historian Professor
Dr Fuat Sezgin, who found many works
and discoveries of Muslim scientists, is the discoverer
of the golden age of Islamic Civilization.
While he was working as an assistant, he was
also busy collecting materials related to the Written

and catalogs of incoming books in the Library of

German physicist Eilhard Wiedemann started
modeling in 1900 in order to introduce the tools
found in Islamic science history. Until 1928, he
managed to model only five tools in about 30
years of his life. Professor Dr. Fuat Sezgin: “Can
I manage to make 30 tools?”, “Can I fill a room
even if it is not a museum?” started to work with
the thought. He modeled more than 700 tools in
the Islamic History of Science Museum he founded
in Frankfurt, and he achieved a great success
beyond his imagination. In the same building,
there was a History of Sciences Library containing
45,000 volumes of books, which he brought
together with great care and effort from all over
the world.
Professor Dr. Fuat Sezgin decided to set up a museum
of the Islamic History of Science Museum in
his homeland, in Istanbul. His goal was to enable
Turks to see these extraordinary achievements of
their civilization and the contribution of Muslim
scientists to the history of science in a more concrete
way.As a result of his efforts, the opening of
the Islamic Science and Technology History Museum,
took place on 25 May 2008.
Professor Dr. Fuat Sezgin passed away on 30
June 2018 in Istanbul, where he spent his last
years and continued his studies. He devoted his
life to science with his diligence and hard work
that pushes the limits of human power, and left
his very valuable works and thoughts behind.
