Rhytoi as burial elements at Cilician Hellenistic and Roman gra<strong>ve</strong>s are notseldom: In the necropolis of Elaiussa-Sebaste a terracotta rhyton in form of aboar’s head has been found in a rock-cut gra<strong>ve</strong> in a rescue excavation by MustafaErgün of the Museum of Erdemli in 1973 (Fig. 7). This piece is today at the displayof the Museum of Anamur and it has been said that a coin of Cladius I as well asearly Roman terracotta unguentarium and amphoriskos were also found in thisgra<strong>ve</strong>.
