2007 SEASON AT KİNET HÖYÜK(YEŞİL-DÖRTYOL, HATAY)Marie-Henriette GATES*Bilkent University’s 16th campaign at Kinet Höyük, an ancient port on theBay of İskenderun, engaged a small team for eight energetic weeks (22 July - 9August), six of them devoted to excavation 1 . The 2007 season resolved majorissues of this decade’s focus on Kinet’s Early and Late Bronze occupationallevels. It also undertook, for the first time, a deep sounding on the mound’ssouth flank to test the sequence documented elsewhere at the site. Theseachievements concluded large-scale fieldwork, and the project’s first phase:collecting sufficient data to assess this northeast Mediterranean harbor’s longcultural and economic history.
